Well to answer this, let's turn it around. What should a woman do if a man is yelling at HER? Would SHE apologize? Be all careful about not interrupting his harangue?
Anyone who yells at anyone else is basically admitting, I'm out of persuasion so now I'll try intimidation. No one has to put up with being intimidated. Just because it's a woman doing the yelling doesn't make a difference.
Personally, if my significant other was yelling at me, either I would leave right there and then, ask them to stop until they were calm enough to talk to me like an adult, or treat it as though a child were having an outburst, as that is what yelling is- a childish outburst, born of poor impulse control and a lack of talent at making yourself understood WITHOUT yelling.

Really depends on the situation. I'm quite disgusted by woman & men that have the need to yell. If you're above the age 5 you should be taught that yelling has it's place but to communicate a point across is not one of them. Perhaps it was the way I was raised but only hooligans and banshees need to yell to get a point across.

Women should never yell at men. That is disrespectful. Remember, a woman came from a man, not the other way around. Instead, the woman should ask herself, "Have I cooked and cleaned enough for my man?" Then, she should do her housework, and that will knock her anger out of her.

Listen to her and let her get it all out. Women tend to need to process how they feel out loud, and interrupting her will just make her angrier. Then try to talk out the problem.
However, does she yell a lot, showing a temper issue? Or does she only yell when she's super frustrated?

When a woman is yelling, she is definitely mad and isn't at the state of mind to reason with you- that's if you're disagreeing with her. Just don't respond at that moment. When she's calmed, then go and talk to her.

What woman? Your wife? A stranger? Generally it's a good idea to walk away in either case and let her calm down. If she hits you, or throws something at you- then you call the police. Men are victims of assault, too, and need to report it.

Depends on the situation; is he at fault or is she crazy and out of touch? Generally speaking it is more sensible for the man to walk away.
