My mother-in-law is having a partial hysterectomy, and I need a good gift for her, something she can use, but nothing over 10 or 15 dollars.

When my mother-in-law had surgery, I went over and cleaned her house from top to bottom and made a casserole and put it in the oven. It didn't cost much, but she loved it. I even put clean sheets on her bed.
Good luck!

If you live close give her nothing but your company. I had a hysterectomy and if someone had of just come over cooked a meal or ran the vaccum (things you are not suppose to do after such a surgery). Call her to see if she needs anything from the store just show concern. This she will remember for years to come the flowers will be forgot the day she throws them away.

Go down to your nearest "Dollar Store", and honey, you can find alot of gifts, and a card + a gift bag w/ paper, for next to nothing! And some of their merchandise, is really stuff that would look like you got it at J.C.Penny's or Walmart! Atleast the "Buck" store next to us, is! And you'll probably even have, change left over!! I'd get her something like, a pretty vase, with some nice realistic looking fake flowers, you can arrange yourself, with some ribbon, a card, some earrings, chocolate, put in a tiny gift bag! With the paper, all nice! Dont forget to fill-out the card! And Vwallaaa!!!!

write her a card or letter that expresses your appreciation for her giving you her son and how her her role has meant so much to you!
cost...zero $. But will mean a lot after a hysterectomy. you feel like well I have been told it plays with your worth as a women....give her this website; http://www.knowmenopause.com/home.html
If you feel you have to buy something go to a Dollar Tree store and pick up body Spa items such as lotions they have a great April body soap and lotion at this time...
or do flowers or Balloons from Card factory outlet...but I think the kind words will mean more and are needed from you

Go to your closest dollar store or walmart, buy a small
bag and nice smelling cream, body spray , hand lotion, and sented soap. Put all the items in the bag and tie a ribbon around the handles maybe with a small card attached. All women love these things and they make good use of them.

A book always makes a great gift!
If your mother in law has any particular hobbies or interests like (gardening or cooking)...Reading is always a great way to pass the time.
And if her mobility is going to be limited it would give her something to enjoy while she heals.
Good Luck & I hope this helps!

Flowers maybe something she likes to read. Most of the best thing you can give her doesn't cost anything...HELP!
After a hysterectomy she is going to be sore for awhile and doing simple tasks will hurt...so go help her clean something, do dishes, cook dinner...anything she will appreciate!

My sister-in-law used one of those beanie baby buddies of her daughter's when she had her hysterectomy. If I remember correctly is was a bear that was lying down (similar to a bear skin rug). Alternative might be a soft pillow. It helps when you lay it across your stomach area or hold it against that area when you are moving around.
