All my bottles say "catsup". Interesting that this variation occurs - I guess they agreed on the spelling of tomato, but couldn't agree on its pronunciation, and now they can't agree on the spelling of catsup (or ketchup).

Hello..Thanks for providing us the information. Both spelling are right, just Ketchup is more common and used as far as I know all over the world. It doesn't mean that catsup is wrong, just slightly not as popular..For example if I say "catsup" in my country it's not likely to be understood or simply they will think that I am joking..Thanks again!! Good luck!!

I think Catsup is the more fancy spelling and ketchup is for us good ol' southern country girls....except I don't eat ketchup. There was a boy tomato and his parents walking along the road. The boy is lolligagging behind and starts whining to slow down. So the father walks back there and steps on his kid and says, "now see if you can "ketchup". I'm sure you've heard that

Ketchup, the Catsup thing was originally a war-time joke by Romanian government that got WAY out of hand, and when the main wave of Romanian refugees came, they brought it with them, and insisted it will never change from their culture because they had no way of understanding what the government has done on the boat to Ellis Island.
