You are having it completely wrong. It is true that without faith in Christ no one can be saved. Faith in Jesus fashions us for greater good deeds. Not all that say they are christians will be accepted into heaven. Jesus said, It is only those who do the will of the Father. You are challenged to read the bible yourself. There you'll discover the "will of the Father." The will of God actually begins with believing in Jesus. Any good act done outside faith in Christ is only on the basis of humanity, sense of community, which reward is limited to this earth. The people who do the greatest sacrificial services are the christians

Although he performed a good deed, the bible says the only way to heaven is through Christ. Many people can do good things, Christians included and not go to heaven. The worst serial killer probably performed a civic act at some point. It's what we believe, you may not agree, that's okay with me, I m not condemning anyone. But don't just question Christianity, all religions have inconsistency's or things that don't seem "right" to everyone

According to kearo i am a heartless bastard. i take offense to that. but back to you.
I am glad that he saved those childern's lives. yes, that makes him a good person but that doesn't not give him a ticket to the other side.
good works yes they help you, but no they don't get you into heaven. good works do however get you jewels for your crown a christian is promised to get when they reach those pearly gates.
yes, christianity has everything to do with Christ/Jesus they are one and the same. if one does not beleive in Jesus then one does not believe in God or the holy spirit.
the Father
the Son
and Holy Spirit
make up the Trinity and the Trinity is God.
it is very plainly written in the bible. in black and white and in ome place in red and white.
"for by grace are ye save through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: least any man should boast" Ephesians 2: 8-9
"I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me" John 14:6
"Niether is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" Acts 4:12
" He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life" 1John 5:12

Yes, this is right. You have to accept Jesus as your savior to go to heaven. You have to believe that he died on the cross for all of our sins and accept him into your heart. And yes it is true that good deeds want get you into heaven alone but they do count. The good deeds have to be from the heart and not bragged about to society to gain reocognition from people here on earth. And yes he should have still saved the children. To say that he shouldn't have is saying he would have only did it to go to heaven. Which wouldn't have counted anyway. Anybody truly good at heart would save anybody regardless of reward.

The Bible is specific about how to go to heaven as all the other answers say. But what about people of cultures who have never heard of God or Christ? Some small tribe in Africa or somewhere? Do they go to hell because they did not even know of Gods existence? Only God know what is in peoples hearts and only he can make that ultimate choice.

I think I answered a similar question earlier. Anyway, my faith has taught me that you just can't be saved and get into Heaven. You have to continue to do good deeds and walk the Christian walk. You can't just say "Yeah, I'm a Christian!" and then lie, cheat, and steal and expect to get a straight ticket into Heaven. I worship a loving and merciful God. To say that a genuinely good person would not get into Heaven would truly limits God's mercy. But this judgment is for God to make, not us.

We are not saved by works, but by faith. We are, however, bound to good works. How will people know that I am Christs? By the fruit that I produce. I cannot go around killing, hating, committing adultery and continue to ask for forgiveness. That would be taking advantage and a incomplete understanding of the God I serve. I truly serve Jesus I will keep his commandments, which tell me to love the Lord God with all my heart and my neighbor the same as I love myself. If I love God with all my hearts I will not continue in sin. I will fall, because we all do, but I will not purposely do the things I used to.

Well the hell that the bible teaches and the hell that the churches teach are 2 different things!
And in Acts it says; 24:15 and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
We are judged by our heart condition.
And I am sorry, but most of what you said was just rambling to me, but I could just be misreading it.

Your information regarding the Christian life is incorrect. For one, salvation is conditional. It is true that, because he did not get saved before he died, he will spend eternity in Hell in spite of any good works that he did.
God expects His children to live a holy life. Once saved always saved is NOT UNCONDITIONAL. Once saved always saved IS CONDITIONAL.
Just because you commit sin after salvation, does not mean that can always truly repent. Christ's divinity does not guarantee your right to sin. Paul said this in the Book of Romans. Also in Romans he talked about his life and the lives of everyone who got saved before salvation and what salvation did for all of them.

I'd like to know where the question was in all of that? It sounded like to me all you wanted to do is call Christians horrible people for believing the way they believe. It sounded like an attack on Christianity and not a question. How many times do I have to say this? This is a question and answer forum. If you want to bash Christians, get a blog and go to town. If you aren't going to ask questions then get the heck out of here.
