I know this 40 year old guy that fears toilets because he is afraid the toilet monster is lurking in them.

Personally, I find it more odd than humorous... second, I wouldn't laugh at someone mentally challenged- only in movies where it's done on purpose. But anyway, I think you should just leave him and let him be... what can you do? Can't change a crazy person, can you?

we need more details to decide. is he never using the toilet? does he go outside instead? is he just nervous about it? is it right to laugh? no. would I? inwardly i would be amused.

to dispel those fears.....have his mother put her arm in and swish it all around..........if that doesn't work, have her step into the toilet to show him that no harm will come to him.

if the monster gets mother----well---he's just going to have to live with it.
