is in the middle of losing her husband because of it.
AA is out of the question because she doesn't want to stop drinking. her husband is living in a hotel right now . he went home last weekend and they said they were going to try and work it out .
he went back to his hotel . and was going to move back in this thursday. and she said she was going to quit drinking during the week and cut back a lot on the weekends . he called her monday night and she was drunk. he got mad and hung up on her . i dont think he's comming home now. she acts like she doesn't care but i know she does. the sad truth is she cares about her alcohol than anything else. she doesn't think she need help . she thinks everyone else does. is there anything that can be done?
(there is no spell check when you add details sorry that my spelling sucks. but i don't need to be told i already know)
so can we please focus on my qusetion?

Alcoholics suck...but without it most are pretty decent people...your Mom has been consumed by her addiction to Alcohol...There is no way she is going to kick this on her own, as you have witnessed by her decision to continue to drink during the week rather than her husband return and work things out...I've known, loved, helped and kept my distance from friends that are as bad as your Mom is...I am surprised she still has kids in her custody...now that her husband, which doesn't sound like your referring to him as Dad, may be out of the picture, you might want to make a plan to figure out were you and your 2 siblings can go when, not if, when this gets worse...there really isn't much you can do for her...she has to do it for herself, before she could even consider taking care of anyone else...so I urge you to seek help for yourselves...good luck.

Make sure she KNOWS that everything will be ruined on her part if she continues this way. Her life along with the lives of her family members. Hopefully she will realize this someday. If possible get all possibilies of her getting alcohol out of the question. Get it out of the house and try to have someone watch her so she wont but it. It's sounds so hard and I'm sorry your going though it. Good luck and God bless.

living with an alcoholic whos family are also alcoholics... theres nothing anybody can do,... my father in law was a severe alcoholic and he quit cold turkey one day just out of the blue and my husband says he will also quit one day, but the worst thing you or anybody else can do right nw is try to make her stop with consequences... she has to quit on her own because you can not force somebody to quit a "habit".. everybody needs to let her hit rock bottom and see for herself one day that she needs to quit and hopefully she will... its just going to take alot of patience from everyone around her... sorry if this isnt what you wanted to hear...

If you can't get your Mother to join AA you might try joining Al-anon. Its a group that has alot of resources for relatives of alcoholics.

Unfortunately, you can not get her help unless she wants it. Continue to pray for her and ask God to guide her. You need to focus on getting help for you. There are lots of great support groups that will help you deal with your feelings and deal with mom. Take care.........god bless............and I will pray for your mom and your family.

Let her drink more so she can die of kidney failure soon. Then all problems will end. I can't see there's any help for her if she doesn't want to help herself.
