Has anyone ever had an iron transfusion?

Have you had any adverse reactions? My iron levels are extrememly low after a gastric bypass. 3 years ago. I feel fine, but my surgeon wants me to have the transfusion. However, non of my doctors agree if I should have it done because there could be side effects!

yes I had one when my iron levels were low when I was pregnant with my youngest ,the only side effects I had were stiffening of the joints at the time,what have you been told will happen?I felt really good after the transfusion made me realize how bad I had been feeling
