You have to buy your way in. That's what the collection plate is for at church.
But in reality, there is no heaven. It's all mythology.
Stick to the real world.

The Bible says that all who do not do the will of the Father will not enter heaven (Matthew 7:21). One must be faithful even to the point of death (Revelation 2:10).

The only 'over-riding quality' would be faithful obedience.

The truth is what sets us free (John 8:32); the gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16). Ignorance is nowhere described as a favorable condition.

i've oft wondered the same. I have come out with an answer for myself through thought, meditation and prayer, but I think that you should do the same, of course I could give you what I think and you could memorixze the answer ans spit it back to everyone you know, however valuable to these type of questions is your own search to think them out, so think bro think. Here is a tip to guide the thinking: It would be a pretty cruel God to hold those who are ignorant of him to a high standard that they never knew about. Besides God never punished the Philistines by death when they stole the ark of the covenant and obeyed the rules that GOd gave to the Israelites about the ark, they were ignorant and he was gracious to them because of it. The troubling question in light of that is, does God hold everyone accountable to the standard that they have been taught? If so how can you ever tell if anyone is a Christian?

Peace and good searching

I Corinthians 13:1-2 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

Charity=love
In this context, charity is not what you donate to non-profit organizations.

In other words, love is more important than speaking in tongues, having all the gift of prophecy or all faith or understanding all mysteries. Charity (love) is more important than all of them. That one quality you are looking for is charity.

The standards the He is going to use to judge us are laid out in the Bible which is His Word.

If you do not know which way your are going, you are walking in darkness. Does that make sense? Think about it a minute.

If you are walking in the Light of God, He shows you the direction to walk in so you can meet His requirements. He says, "My yoke is easy and My burden is light." It in not hard to serve Him if you love Him.

Tell Him you do not know the way and ask Him to show you. You can get a hundred different answers from a hundred different people. But when you ask Him and He shows you, then you KNOW the Way and can walk in it.

Read the Bible and pray about which church you should go to, not a big fancy building but a humble little full Gospel church.

Don't go for looks but go for Truth. He is able to lead you and guide you into all Truth. Talk to Him. Trust Him and do not accept anybody's doctrine if it is contrary to His Word.

Hoping to come back with a more complete reply, with scriptures, time permitting.

Well, that would be pretty evil wouldn't it. You have to follow all 613 laws if you want to 'do' anything to get into heaven.

But, many years were spent trying that, and of course it didn't work. All those laws were to prove that you couldn't gain God's favor with law. Jesus pushed this fact by teaching the law to the full extent.

You are saved by grace. God and Jesus declared the whole world righteous and ended the world of sin and judgment - at the cross.

They will tell you it is only your faith - but Jesus made that a law too - and then died for it. It is Jesus faith that has saved you.

You are free. And God is experiencing this life through you, so make it worthwhile and good!

I'm not sure that the decision is necessarily up to God, though I realize from the start that my statement doesn't sound right. But when you consider, let's say from newspaper or media accounts of a convicted murder or captured sex offender or any other serious offender, the offender's family always believes - and very religiously - that their accused family member is really a good guy, he walks the neighbor's dog, he counsels others to stay away from drugs, he was just turning his life around, he was loved by many, etc etc etc....so when you look at it in this perspective, it tells me that if you tried to say to that family that their son was going to hell or at least not going to heaven, they I'm sure could come up with a thousand reasons to prove you wrong. So maybe entry into heaven is something determined by the people who love/loved the recently deceased??

God only lets those who recieved Jesus as their Lord and Savior. You see God is perfect and HE can on;y let perfect people into heaven. Well no one is perfect. We all have broken at least one of the 10 Commandments (which is the law of God) and in the Bible it says that if you break one of God's laws then you break them all. So God created a way for us to go to heaven. Before Jesus came on this earth it was blood sacrifice of animals. But God knew that He needed a perfect sacrifice. That is Jesus. His blood covers all our sin. we just have to accept.
Every person has a chance before they die to recieve Jesus. Whether supernatural or through His creation. God gives everyone a chance.
It says IF you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved.

God decides by how you spent your life/time on earth. Since life is a test....a test of faith. OK, let's just say; you created the earth and you wanted to test what you created without having to prove who you are. Your creation asked for proof and so you sent Jesus, your only begotton son to live, perform miracles and inform them that you exsisted. and he even died for everyone and the wrongs that they beheld for rebuking your plan or your very exsistance and power. (Are you following me?) so now you still continue to give life and take it accordinally to your plan long after you sent Jesus....so lets just say.... there is a person who you created and there was many opportunities that this person was told about you and Jesus, but they thought it was made up or fiction or whatever the excusses are....and never accepted and had faith that you would take care of them and what your will is for those who believe. Would you let that person who was ugly of sin, who never even thought about or cared about who you are or your plans for them. They rejected your trust and rejected your son as a savior for their wrongs. They never asked for forgiveness of their wrongs and to ask Jesus to come into their life and change their ways from the world and trust you. Would you let that kind of person into heaven with you and Jesus and other believers? NO, why would you, that would not be an intellegent move. They proved on earth that they had no faith in you. Why should they believe now....oh because now they understand and see you...after its too late. That's the whole reason behind the word....FAITH in God. Believers trust him and they are the ones who are worthy enough to spend forever in heaven with Him. My favorite verse is 2 Corinthians 4:18.....

Fix not your eyes on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, and what is unseen is forever.

Think about it! God Bless and good luck!

My gods let everyone come Home. Even those we humans judge to be "bad" or "evil" have pure souls--they are just playing a part down here on Earth, a very difficult one.
If your favorite actor played a villain in one movie would you think the actor himself was evil? Or would you think how brave he was to break out of the mold and try a more difficult role than a romantic or action hero?
As humans, we can't see the bigger picture, the grand plan. We all have our parts to play in it, though.

Everyone is allowed into "Heaven". Our closeness to God depends on our evolution. Our evolution, depends on how well we deal with our trials in the corporeal existence, such as Earth. Suffer well, and love your neighbor, Heaven is for all, not just the few "select" as modern Religious Institutions would have you believe!
