This is funny. From an etiquette point of view, they should be free to use your bathroom. However, I have a friend of mine who gets his jollies off of clogging my toilet from his stool. So, for him, under NO circumstances can he use my toilet. I know it is poor etiquette, but I can't afford a plumber every time he stuffs up my toilet with his crap.

Your house is a reflection of yourself. You should never invite anyone over to your home, if you are not willing to offer a beverage (or just water), and share your bathroom. The bedroom is off limits, unless invited.

Yal I would say that is rude. If they r not good enough to use your bathroom, why even let them in your house.

Yes because there is no reason for you to not let them use your bathroom.

Absolutely! It would be better to not let them into your home than to deny them the use of the bathroom.

It depends on the reason, of course.

If you don't want to let them use it because you have a sewer problem and flushing the toilet would cause huge backups in the pipes, that's not rude.

If you don't want them to use it for some other reason, it would depend.

Yes, it's rude unless you provide a convenient (and sanitary!) alternative.

Put it this way, would it be rude of me, as your guest, to take a dump on your coffee table?
There's your answer.
