If it has always been slow, you might want to increase RAM. It's cheap right now and you really do not realize how much even an additional 512mb will help.
If you have noticed a gradual slowing, you might want to dump your temp memory, internet memory, and cookies(even though they dont take much space)
In windows click start, control panel, internet options, delete cookies, delete files (make sure you hit the offline box), you can even clear your history.
Hope this helps.

If ur using P4 processor, 256 is the mim RAM reqd.
If u r very sure of virus free sys then try wat the others have said.
But if their TIPs fails, then u need to clean ur windows Registry. U can do it manually or with the help of Reg cleaner softewares. I advice u to use the softwares rather than doing it urself as Registry is Windows Database. And u should be very careful or u can damage ur Sys badly.
If u r not getting such softwares then I recommend u to clean format the hard disk and install freh Windows.
Make a habbit of Defragmenting ur sys, atleast 1nce in 2 weeks.
With Regards.

Could be one or more of a lot of different factors that make your computer slow, running an operating system like xp on a machine that was designed for windows 98 or 95 would be a common cause. Insufficient memory for what ever task you are preforming could be another cause, unless you are more specific people can only guess what your problem is..

first thing is to check your pc for Spyware and Adware...
Check this program for free: www.lavasoftsupport.com
Make sure you have an anti-virus... I use nod32 it uses low resources( I mean ram and cpu)
Second thing... get a tweaking software.. like tweakxp
I use winutilities... it clears your computer and uses low resources... also fixes registry, clears for junk files.. duplicate files..
Try it yourself and you will see the difference.
