This is more of a statement than a question. I saw and heard on the news about the two soldiers that were mutilated and murdered by Iraqis. It makes me mad because I feel it was unneccesary for us to be there. This all started with a lie from Bush about weapons of mass destruction when there was none. Why did'nt he use this type of force when Osama Bin Laden blew up the towers? Again, this is my opinion. Please give me yours.

It is a shame that people are dying. But the soldiers are in Iraq to try to better the lives of the Iraqi people as a whole. I don't agree with war, but I also don't agree with oppression or dictatorships. So it has me upset in more ways than one. I do not want anymore people to get hurt, but what about all those that died under Hussein's regime? One of those soldiers were from close to where I live...he was from Springfield, MA. It does feel like it is never going to end. I support the soldiers, for I know that they are doing their job, and it must be hell for them. So I am a torn soul when it comes to this war. I hope that the people involved are safe and no more harm comes to them...I can HOPE.

In a related thought:
Yesterday I saw this show on PBS, about Cheney and Rumsfeld, and about their political careers, and it dealt somewhat with the War in Iraq. They have these really interesting tapes where the day after 9/11, everyone in the President's cabinet was meeting with the heads of the CIA. The CIA heads were saying, basically, that they knew that the people who attacked us had to be al quaida, and that they knew they were in Afghanistan. Rumsfeld kept going after Saddam Hussein, saying that there must be a way he was connected to this, there must be a way that he could be connected and that there must be a way that they could connect him to the attacks, even though the CIA heads were adamant that he was not involved. He was gunning to invade Iraq, even though the CIA ha no evidence that he was at all involved. It also mentioned that we went into war in Iraq without doing the kind of in-depth research on the country, it's government, and it's military that the US government does before it takes any sort of military action, or even issues sanctions against a country. It also mentioned that many senators suspect that Dick Cheney did not allow the CIA enough time to do this research and make a report because he wanted to invade Iraq without too much debate among senators. He didn't want any bad information to come out, giving reasons against going to war.

I think it's really, really sad that we got ourselves into this situation, that people are dying and that war atrocities are being committed for no reason! For political play in Washington!

The worst part is, we have done so much work in Iraq, getting Saddam, but the man responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans is running free (Bin Laden), because we have taken resources out of Afghanistan to invade Iraq.

I agree with you. It was an unnecessary war started under false pretenses. It has been a drain of life and money.
