In the Bible, God told Abraham to sacrifice his son. Abe almost did it, raised the knife, but God said "Never mind. I was just testing you."
This morning God told me to sacrifice my cat. Should I do it? Maybe God is just testing me too?

Hey people, don't worry. The question is rhetorical! I'm like Socrates. I ask questions to get people thinking.

Maybe Abraham failed the test.
Maybe God wanted Abraham to display mercy and argue for the life of his son, as he did for the lives of the people of Sodom.

Of Course! Yes you should do it - absolutely!-Hey, how I see it when was the last time you got a direct order from the big man himself anyway?- And there's absolutely no way you can loose here- your cat dies- you're a friggin saint for not allowing yourself to be crushed under pressure, God says never mind - you can be content with nowing that you were willing to go all the way, I'm sure you'll make the right choice -Go on, kill your cat!

Cats are fundamentally evil.
So it makes sense that God would want you to eradicate the world of these vile creatures.
If he is asking you to sacrifice it, with some nice Szechwan sauce, and served on a bed of noodles, that may not be God.. but Mr. Wong, who lives down the hall.

God was testing Ab to see if he was worthy to be the physical father of the chosen people. I doubt God has such a plan for you. I think if God is really talking to someone there will be no doubt. If you really thought God was telling you to kill your cat you would probably do it. If nothing happend other than you having a dead cat on your hands then it wasn't God.

You're not a Christian are you? If you were you would already know that Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ paid the full price by His sacrifice on the cross for the sins of all men and women who accept Him.
God's not talking to you at all. Better test the spirit before you kill one of God's creatures.
You and people like you are always in my prayers.

I seriously doubt that God told you to sacrifice your cat. If a living being means so little to you, why don't you take it to a local animal rescue where it can be placed with someone who will appreciate it and value it's life.

You need to get to know God better.
He no longer demands blood sacrifices because Jesus paid it all. Now He says, Obedience is better than sacrifice, and to listen is better than the fat of rams.
God never tells anyone to do something that contradicts His Word.

There have been moments in my life, like right now, where I wished I had the ability to reach out and touch someone.
That we can't is frustrating. People like you obviously need a good touching.
Being that isn't on the table my suggestion to you is to call your psychotherapist and ask him to change your medication, apparently what you are presently taking isn't working.
