Don't you realize that marriage is supposed to last forever..?

No, that would be much too young to marry, whether you're going into the service or not.
And right now with an ugly war going on, is no time to join the service. That would be like committing suicide. No benefit is worth that price.

Marriage is based on love, not benefits and should last forever. With the currently war situation, why would you place yourself in harms way? Also, why start off a marriage with the possibility of you being deployed and not seeing your new bride for several months? Just some questions for thought.

that is so stupid...marry a girl go join the army , possiblity get killed, and leave your wife, possible kid with no husband or father, that is so selfish.. you are too young to get married..the army is a whole different world, they own you for whatever length of time you sign up for..most marriages in the service end up in divorces, because the wife cant understand you just cant jump home whenever they want you too....

no don't marry for benefits. marriage is for love and love only. will you always love her and want just her? if not then you need to be honest with her and yourself. do the right thing and join the army if you want but do not mary that girl for money. money will not make you happy and that's all you need to be unhappy and fighting in the war plus with her. get help because that's not right

No for God sakes. You will be traveling the world and rather your faithful or not she will have people in her ear saying your not. Then she will be in your bed with some one else.

Some of the answers above are so stupid. Remember if you join you are a Soldier first and a husband 2nd. Dont join for the wrong reason. Used your head.

Of course. Anything that is done can be undone at a later date. Just be sure to get a prenup or the divorce could end up taking more than the benefits are worth.

You can I f you are sure you want to spend an eternity together, BUT...
I don't recomend it! A Couple of my friends did this and after leaving and traveling the world and finding them Selves, They came back with a completely different perspective on life and both are divorced now. You may think you know what you want now, but She should be able to support herself until you return, She needs to be self Sufficiant too!

Your a young man, in 5 years your outlook on the world will completely change. If your really sure you love her then by all means go head. You should probably sit down with your parents and have a long heart to heart.

No you shouldn't. You need to wait. Marriage is a big decision that you just aren't ready to make yet. Trust me. I got married right out of high school and would not suggest it to anyone.
