Im applying to the post office, for general work (ie. corting mail, etc.) but there was no advertisment made of any job openings, but I was told to send my resume there anyways, and I just need help with a phrase to put on my cover letter to go with my resume, to say that I would like to apply for ANY position, and Im not quite sure how to word it. Any help word be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

it is better to be as specific as possible. you will still be asked to say a specific job when you fill out the application but if you still aren't sure, go to the us post office website and look at the possible job positions they have. there are different departments to work in so you should narrow your choice down and say (for example) "I am interested in any position in the Operations Department."

try something like this:

Dear HR Manager,

I heard about your company and i know it is a well respected company.

I am sure that my education, knowledge and expertise would make me fit for a job in the .

I would highly appreciate if you would consider my resume and call me to an interview in which i can provide more details.

How about just saying...i'm intersted in employment with your office. i feel i would be appropriate for a variety of positions. please find my resume enclosed. ???????
