The Bible says that "as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he."

If thinking about it makes you an adulterer, shouldn't we ban those people from getting married?

Never mind the Bible. It's not the final word on human morals. And anyway, why should non-believers be forced to live by its rules?

What you are suggesting is horrible, because it would mean people are condemned for their thoughts rather than their actions. Should someone who ponders robbing a bank be locked away? Of course not. Only if they commit the crime should they be punished. We've all had unpleasant thoughts, but they are our business and no one elses. What sort of vile, self-righteous society would pass such a law?

And besides, how do you enforce it. Unless someone owns up to thinking a certain way, there's no way of knowing what they think. This kind of intolerant prudery is spreading hate, suspicion and encouraging the worship of victimhood. Live and let live.

This rings of the Thought Police from 1984.....If you commit a Thought Crime, they come and take you away. Do you really want to live in a society like the one in 1984? That's what people like you seem to be striving toward. The author is George Orwell, the title is 1984. It is one of those millions of books that you Bible-thumpers haven't read, but should.

I find this to be a far far left/right wing idea.....all men think about other women, don't care who you are...one of the devil's footholds.....but they shouldn't be banned from marriage-that's just silly.
At the same time those men should be looking for something to replace those thoughts, and make every effort to avoid all situations that could lead to adultery or the thught of it.

"We" don't know what a man thinks in his heart. (Of course there's always, By their fruits ye shall know them), but God does know what a man thinks in his heart.

Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God WILL judge.

Should people who think about swearing at you be banned from Yahoo! Answers? (If so, there will be a lot of them.)

You want to start the thought police, huh?
Being married doesn't mean you're dead. A healthy marriage can mean that both spouses and look at and think about others, but that they also DISCUSS it. "Isn't she pretty?" "Yes, I could wear my hair like that for you."

No way. Like anything else, even faith, if you never question it, how valid can it be? We're rational, inquisitive, thinking (and imperfect) beings-- it's what makes us so extraordinary.

Obsessing about it and acting on it are different matters entirely.
