meaningful issues are always controversial. just look at any question regarding 9/11, the war in Iraq, abortion, etc.
controversy, obviously, brings heated posts, swearing, name calling, ignorance.
i would bet that this controversy and lack of restraint shown by some of the people posting is why meaningful questions are not shown.
if my question was to be featured i would be very interested in getting a clear (and clean) idea of where the majority of Americans really stand on the issue of the war in Iraq. not some curse-riddled response insulting the whole Muslim culture, not some patriotic crap about 'whatever bush says is good with me' , but a real answer.
well thanks for letting me give you my two cents ;o)

Your perspective on the validity of questions posted to this site is only a reflection of your own personal expectations. 5 year old children ask why the sky is blue. Doctors ask how to prevent cancer, or reduce risk for it. But regular people, with a wide array of interests, come to this site. Why judge them for not asking what you want to ask? If you think the questions are meaningless, then maybe you are looking up the wrong questions, or you are not participating quite as much as you should. I.E.,Post your own questions, but treat other people with the same respect you want from them. Do not judge their questions: answer them or ignore them. It's that simple.

Most of our questions are meaningless! They are usually driven by curiosity about how our behaviors or beliefs relate to others. I would have to seriously think about what I would ask if my question were featured. I can't answer that so quickly. :)

Most questions on here on meaningless. It's usually just someone from one side trying to irritate the other. I guess that's what makes it funny.

I would ask why the mainstream media is hiding the truth about 9/11, and why the people of the US don't do something about it!
