Which is the better date for a 16 year old born again: an honest non-Christian believer in God or a lying hypocritical Christian-in-name-only con-artist?

How about an Honest Christian?
Crap, that wasn't a choice.
How about someone who respects her, has the same interests, and is a pretty decent kid.
I would have been doing good to stick with those at that age.

It is always easiest and most rewarding to date someone with the same values you have.
I would say both of your examples would be difficult for you to date. If your religion is important to you, then it would be hard to share this important part of your life with someone who doesn't believe.
If you think someone is a lying hypocrtical Christian in name only conartist - then you really don't have a high enough opinion of this person to date them. It would be a waste of time.
My advice is to pray and keep looking. God will eventually lead you down the right path to find the right guy. I didn't meet the man of my dreams until I was 30!

To be honest, I'd say neither. In both cases, there are issues that are in direct conflict with the 16-yr-old's religious faith.
There are plenty of fish in the sea, as they say, and to this 16-yr-old, I would say: throw these two back into the water, and keep fishing.

you should date the one that is truthful. a relationship will never work if you are not truthful with each other. you can work through anything if you are open and honest.
