ok women have fought for over a hundred years effectively so that they are treated the same as men, with the same rights etc. He's one thing that gets me however didn't men pay for dates, weddings bills whatever...because women were paid less...and now that women earned relatively the same as men shouldn't women now pay for themselves? I'm not being rude it's just that society is screwed up women shouldn't expect men to pay for them when they're suposed to be independant people...i'm gona stop now...ok basically should women pay their own way now that times have changed?

On a date, I go for the rule of whoever asked the person out should pay. So if I do the asking I treat. If he does the asking he treats.

I think many couples planning on getting married share the expenses of the wedding, although traditionally I think it's the bride's parents who pay.

Some men like to pay for women, it makes them feel gallant or gentlemanly, which is fine sometimes, but I have to say I like to pay, at least for myself if not also for him sometimes, because I don't want to get too dependent on him!

Ever heard of a place called Wal-Mart? Well, they pay women less for the same jobs that men do. TIME did an investigation about this topic. In about 80% of work places, women still earn less than men for the same job. Girls who expect to be treated like queens suck and should be more independent. Nonetheless, paying for a date should be the responsibility of whoever asks. I think it's courtesy in general. Like I'm a girl and if I ask a friend to come to the movie with me, I'll pay. It should go back and forth. If she wants to go out with you and do a fun activity, she should pay. :)

You're right. In this day and age men and women are considered equals. The problem is...women wanted equality, the same payrates, etc. as men BUT they still want to be treated as ladies, having doors opened for them, dinner bought for them. You can't expect to have it both ways ladies. As to equality, have you ever had a woman open a door for you? Take you out and buy you dinner? Don't even get me started on how a woman has the upper hand in the courts and custody battles. Things these days are def. NOT equal. Perhaps men should start fighting for equal rights.

yes i think so when god created women he took a rib from the man and gave to the woman , so we have more power than they do , but they just dont realise that yet, with due respect to all men women should be taken care off to a point where a man should not look the other way to do something for a woman, if he said he loves her. but some women are adventageous too. and we tend to think that we should not try to help ourselves and want to be totally dependant on men this is not right.

It is up to you and up to her. Here's a rule of thumb - if you ask her out, you should pay, and if she asks you out, she should pay. Now, what I did when I dated, was make it clear up front that the woman needs to pay. If a woman wasn't cool with that, she was a gold-digger, and I didn't date her.

I DO pay my own way. If I ask someone out, I pay. If he asks me out, he pays. Then it alternates from there.

P.S. I believe the tradition is that the BRIDE'S parents pay for the wedding.

Easy. If a woman wants the guy to pay and the guy wants to get in her pants, then he should pay. It's called prostitution.
