a fart is only excess air in the body. so when someone passes wind it discipates in the air with the wind. someone close by may smell an odor, but since the amount of air outside the body is greater, the scent is nuetralized, the same as air freshner that we use to make the air smell better, especially when someone has just let one go inside our homes!

or they get sucked into this machine, the methane in the fart is filtered and pressurized -- and this is what we use for our gas stoves or grillers
