Hey Sister.... why not replace your VW car with a VW Camper Van?

I'm sure you can get an old one cheap, and have it restored. Keep the hippy spirit alive!

Have it painted up with flowers and peace signs.... see you at Woodstock! ....Along with thousands of other groovie people!

Good Vibes and Best Wishes Sister! Bless you! Peace!!

Well, why are you replacing the VW? The new Golf replacement is going back to the old Rabbit name and is a solid car. Usually, firts year models of cars have lots of issues, but the Rabbit has been sold for three years as the current Golf in Europe, so it is pretty solid already. There is also the GTi version, which is more sporting than the Mini. The Mini is a fun car, but has no usable back seat. The Rabbit or GTi has a backseat a person could be ok in for short drives, or that kids would be fine with for longer trips. Take a drive of the cars you are considering before deciding what to do. Oh, and I hear that later this summer (or now maybe) there will be a four door GTi. I plan on checking that out!

I'm considering a new car after three VW Golfs that were all purchased new and driven for 160,000+ miles. And I can't imagine driving anything OTHER than a VW.

Unfortunately, my son is 15 and plays basketball, so he and his friends are too big for the Golf's back seat. I'd LOVE a Touareg, but they're expensive and I commute 45-55 miles EACH WAY for work, so fuel economy is essential. So I'm looking at the new Mazda and Acura crossover SUVs...

...but the Eos hardtop/sunroof/convertible is HOT! Right now it's at the top of my list. This is really the hardest new car decision I've ever made!

Not sure what model you have, I assume the beetle which was very popular because it run forever ( almost ) and was cheap on fuel and was easy to repair.
The Mini is a safe car because of the many air bags and should be cheap on fuel. As for the maintenance part of it I don't think the Mini will be like the VW to repair.

I would say nothing can replace a VW!!! LOL
But I too like the little mini's and heard they are fun to drive and handle well...just like my Volksey. So test drive it although the new GTI's are very very nice!

Go for a Pontiac Solstice, it's a lot safer than a Mini, and the Solstice is very cool.
