this is called anemia. if it's so low that your hematocrit and hemoglobin are way below normal range, you may need a blood transfusion.

A dangerously low white blood cell count increases the risk of serious infection. Potential causes of a low white blood cell count (leukopenia) include:

Infections, such as viral infections and HIV
Autoimmune disorders, such as lupus
Certain medications, especially those used in chemotherapy and some antibiotics
Radiation therapy
Bone marrow disease, such as leukemia or myelodysplastic syndromes
Sometimes the cause of a low white blood cell count can't be determined (idiopathic).

sorry if thats not what u mean but its what i could find.

Sure. I can be fatal. But it can also be managed. Your doctor will know if its anemia, or low red blood cells, leukopenia, a low white blood cell count or thrombocytopenia, low platelet count.

The red blood cells carry oxygen and other nutrients all over the body. The white cells are your immune system and platelets clot your blood.

I used to have acute anemia, and was really poorly with it, but i was borderline for hospitalization.
Never found the cause and after 2 years of iron and blood tests every 2 weeks!
I'm now i hope healthy, i did develop anemia with both my pregnancies, but if your doctor is not too concerned then you don't need to be, just eat an iron rich diet and drink plenty of water so the iron doesn't constipate you.

The singer from Korn found out his red count was 5 when it's suppose to be around 42 I think. They cancelled their euro tour because if he would have head banged his brain would have hemorrhaged resulting in death. Hope that puts it into perspective for ya. :p
