A firm in the Netherlands has invented a process whereby tv watchers would be forced to watch ads. The device freezes the ability of the viewer to change channels, skip, or remove the ad from their view. This according to Royal Phillips Electronics. A patent filed Mar 30 this year indicates that the technology would be on a channel by channel basis and would operate via a set top box.
Of course, Phillips acknowledges that this type of advertising won't be popular with very many people. However, the patent indicates that viewers would be able to avoid this type of intrusion by paying a broadcasters fee which would then exempt them from forced ad viewing.
Go figure!
Sony, those innovators, filed a patent early this year for a new apparatus that will allow portability of gaming devices...allowing them to be rolled up or folded when not in use and then unrolled/folded to be used. The devices are liquid based allowing for the ability to fold, roll etc, then when electrical current runs through them they take on their rigid state so that they can be used as normal. This apparently will include screens, controllers etc. Check last source to read Gamespots info...interesting.
Can't be greedy here and hope these aren't being repetitive of someone elses answer...found them interesting tho.
Good question.
