Be sure to rat out your neighbors any time they say anything 'controvertial'.
You rarely see anyone getting reported for anything that's an actual 'violation' (ridiculous idea anyway), it's always because they didn't like the question, so they stretch the truth and report it. Then Yahoo just deletes the question and eventually will delete your account if you keep it up. If you write to Yahoo to protest this, they ignore it. I imagine their thinking is 'well, we can't get involved in all this', but they ARE involved in it when they proved a button for anyone at any time to rat someone out for a question they don't like.
By the way, yes, this is has happened 3 times to me....BIG surpsise.

It is just a glimpse of things to come. Eventually when Big Brother takes over these will be the same people reporting you to the thought police. Better start practicing now.

Well, I agree it’s quite hazardous to enable the button for everybody. Probably Yahoo doesn’t have the time to read and consider all the problems.
Perhaps reporting abuse should be a privilege of level 5 and above users who surely take it seriously.

I will report anyone who uses the "n" word. I think it is most disrespectful.
I will report anyone who asks questions that are inappropriately sexual.
I expect people to respect my space and not clutter it with socially unacceptable language whether I am here on this web site, on a discussion board, or in the student lounge, and I will speak up whenever my space is being invaded by foul words and opinions.

Oh, yeah? How about the people who don't like your answer to their stupid question. You know it had to be them, going to your profile, picking a random question, pressing the old abuse button...I KNOW this has happened to me because most of the questions I ask - hah- there's NO way they could be considered in violation. Some of my ANSWERS on the other hand...lol

More importantly, who cares about a self centered prick like you who likes to cause chaos and cast insults only to become upset when he's told to sit down and shut up. Awwww... are your feelings hurt? (wimper wimper "My right to insult people and say whatever comes into my infantile mind are being violated... it's not fair!!!)
Who really cares...

I think the button is necessary.
Some things that are said are TOTALLY unnecessary. People need to think about what they are writing.
Unfortunately, some people's mouths are worse that filthy toilets.

I agree, if something offends me i don't tend to answer, it would be a waste of my time.
BUT if there is a question about the abuse of minors etc then i report it.

I want to be able to come to a site and not worry that some racist jerk is going to spew bile about crap I don't care to hear and is offensive
I would agree that it appears "results" are less than satisfactory.

Not i disagree. Alot of times the abused, wife, husband, child, whatever, is too scared or ashamed to come forward with the claims, and in this case they need an outsider to report it. Thanks though, and its a good question,
Matt
