Yes, i think by the strictest definition of religion he did. In fact there has always been a legend that he told his closest associates he was wrong abou evolution at the time of his death. There was at one time a book in circulation that Darwin wrote that critiqued that theory of evolution, and showed how flawed it was, whether it was a forgery or not we will never know, it was banned by the government and if worth a great deal of money if you still have a copy today. But once again, the book and conversion is merely a legend, which make my post both interesting and useless, lol.

Of course. He was a member of the church of science.

Today, Darwin is considered one of the "prophets" of this now dominant religion.

If you don't believe science is it'sown religion, just see how jealously it guards its orthodoxies, how it conducts itself in debates of scientific doctrine? The Roman Catholics would be proud.

Religion can be said as a way of spending a life time, thorugh the
laws and the thinking(ideas) it propogates.
Darwin had an independent ideas of being athesist.

Like many of us, for many years he was a practicing Christian - which he gradually gave up. In his later years he dropped theism altogether.
