Sevin dust. Apply it pretty liberally all over the yard. Also, if you have pets, Pour some into a panty hose, and pat them down with it. Read the instructions on the bag for better details. It seems to work the best for me.

Find a spray that is animal friendly and spray the heck out of the yard. It's hard, because as well as you may protect your yard, doesn't mean the neighbor will do the same. You can purchase a tablet called Capstar that most people are not aware of. It will kill all the fleas on your animal for up to 24 hrs, and is safe to give every day if needed. The important thing is to keep the fleas off the animal - one flea can bite up to 400 times a day. So, use Advantage or a similar product, do not use any over the counter remedy - they may be cheaper, but are potentially harmful to your animal - I tell you that from personal experience. You can also purchase a natural product called diatametric earth from a health food store. It is a fine powder that dehydrates the fleas and the eggs and causes them to die off. It is safe to sprinkle everywhere inside and outside your home, as well as on the pet it's self and it's very cheap. Hope one of these options helps.

putting frontline plus (I don't care for advantage) on your pets will kill the fleas off.. and keep them off
But I prefer more natural methods for the yard since it ends up in our water..To many chemicals being used.. they the stuff from www.fleabusters.com..they are called Nematodes. http://www.fleabusters.com/Products/Biobusters/index.html
and for indoors they have a powder http://www.fleabusters.com/Products/Rx_Plus/index.html
They guarantee no fleas for a year but I have had it last longer..
And they also have a shampoo that is very gentle and works great.

You can also have them come out and do it for you, I had them do it for me the first time...

Let your dog or cat do the work. Get Advantage from your vet or better yet PetMed.com. The fleas will be killed once on dog/cat and cycle will end.
They will disappear from your house too.
