Sometimes when I'm praying I'll yawn. I'm not tired or looking at someone who just yawned. Does this happen to anyone else?

when my mother had her heart surgery, she used to yawn allot in the hospital. I had asked the heart specialist once why my mom is yawning so much. The doctor told me that yawning is a response to the lungs, they do not have enough oxygen in them and are close to collapsing, so your brain triggers a yawn, to suck in allot of air into the lungs instantly. Pretty interesting!

Scientifically no; it's your brain requiring more oxygen, but during the Dark Ages it was believed that excessive yawning was evil spirits trying to get out, and often women or men who excessively yawned, especially during church were uunder threat of being accused of witchcraft.

yawning has nothing to do with praying... ive prayed plenty of times and i yawn when im tired... its your body telling you, you are tired whether you think so or not... or its telling you, you are still waking up.... either way prayer /= yawn
