Faith is belief without proof. I can't speak for all Christians, but I don't think I'm any better than anybody else. For that matter, I don't KNOW that I picked the right religion, I just believe I did. Can't prove it, can't disprove it, I just believe it. I do agree with some of the "idiots" that CONSTANTLY question religion, though. Some of the pseudo-christians on here are more conceited than saved.

Faith is, and this is in no way a definition...only opinion, believing in something that has yet to be proven as fact. One has faith in God and Christianity because they were told that it was real as a child. They were bred to have the faith. It is different for everyone. Different people have different extremes of their faith. One person may be a bit more open to other suggestions or change in their faith, while others are very strict and will never change their beliefs.
A true Christian shouldn't think of themselves as "better" than everyone else. For all we know, we could be worshiping in the wrong way. Buddhism may be the one true faith...Muslim could be the right one...or Mormon...we don't know for sure. That is where faith comes in. We can only go on what the Bible tells us, but there are parts of the Bible that are contradictory and may be false. So where can we say that Christianity is the only true faith? Truth is we can't. The only thing we can do is to decide for ourselves once we are old enough to do so. Shed our parent's way of thinking and try and find the truth for ourselves. Perhaps we will go back to what our family believed, perhaps not. It's up to us.

This idea of "Christians knowing better than everyone else" always seems to originate from non-Christians.
No Christians that I know think that way. I know I certainly don't. But I guess part of being a Christian is having non-Christians put ideas into your head that you've never, ever entertained.
About faith -- a long story, but basically it involves belief without demanding proof from God, which some people are smug enough to actually do.

It's not about a religion knowing better than everyone else. It's about how deeply you trust God. How much faith you have in Him that He will get you out of the situation that you're in. In the bible Hebrews 11:1 says faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For example before there was light, God spoke the word of faith "Let there be light" and there was. The substance of things hoped for was when He said let there be light. The evidence of things not seen was when the light came to be. Faith is trusting in God according to His word (which is everything in the bible). If you have cancer, according to His word by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5) So then by faith you begin to say, "I have cancer, but by his stripes I am healed." But you have to believe that. Faith is not denial about the current situation, it's just calling the things hoped for and backing that with the word of God.

Faith is the act of believing without having absolute proof. There is no "religion" that is better than the other, its just according to your belief system.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith is knowing something is true, even when you may not have alot of physical evidence to prove it. It is trusting in Him with all your heart because of His word, though you have not seen Him in the flesh.

Hebrews 11:1-6 (NKJV)
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. [2] For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. [3] By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
[4] By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks. [5] By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. [6] But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
___________
Without Faith...it is impossible to please HIm, for he who comes to God MUST BELIEVE that HE IS.
Faith is believing that JESUS IS GOD.
That belief will change your whole life if you have TRUE FAITH.
