Being polite and decent is the way to proceed. Being taken advantage of is wrong.

I'd offer bottled water, perhaps even in a cooler, so that they need not ask. It's improper for them to ask in any case. If it becomes anb obnoxious situation, I'd state that to the "Boss"

By the way, no matter where YOU are, an offering isn't a license to expect that. They work FOR you!!!

Anyone I hire, who works on any crew of mine, better bring their own food and drinks.

My husband is in the construction trade. He says that it is not necessary, but he will go out of his way for people who have treated him and the crew well. I wouldn't do hot drinks, though. Make a gallon of sun tea or put a pitcher of water out.

I am in construction and require my guys to bring plenty of liquids.

These guys have gotten it from you so much that they are expecting it. It is not required of you.

If you do want to provide drinks, Try filling a cooler with whatever you want in it and set it out, and let them know it is for them.

Just say you put some drinks in there for them for TODAY so they won;t have to ask. When gone say that is all you picked up.

If you don't want to supply drinks at all just say your out and haven't been to store.
