No, abortion is a device to kill a fetus. Contraception devices should be the morning after pill, the patch, iuds, birh control pills, condoms (at the top of the list, because of AIDS too), spermicidal jelly, spermicidal foams, and the list goes on.

Abortion is used as a solution to the Oops Factor. People so irresponsible they became caught up in the moment and now a child must die.

Abortion is not a form on contraception, contraception means against inception - if you are aborting you have already conceived.

I am not anti-abortion, I definately think that it has it's place and that it is necessary and shouldn't be banned. However, I do think that there are moral issues involved, whether or not you consider a foetus to be a child or not (I'm not sure of this, myself).

It does seem that some people use abortion almost as contraception, and although I don't like the idea (I think if you know you don't want a child, make sure you use birth control - if this goes awry and you are sure you don't want a child, it is better for both the child and you to abort it), I do think that where a baby is a complete accident, is unwanted and wouldn't be loved or cared for, where the mother has gotten pregnant through sheer carelessness even know she knows she doesn't want a baby, perhaps abortion is the best thing. What kind of life for a child if it grows up in that kind of environment?

I don't think that you can say abortion is 'right' or 'wrong' - it is only right or wrong for the individual circumstances and people involved.

Just because more people are doing something doesn't make it right. More people are having sex outside of marriage, having illegitimate children, murdering, abusing, raping, cheating on their taxes, etc and it doesn't make any of those things right.

And no, abortion is not a form of contraception. The point of contraception is to AVOID conception (hence the name CONTRA CEPTION). Abortion is the killing of a child that has been conceived.

Should it be? Well, it is impossible for abortion to be a contraceptive, since that goes against the direct definitions of both words.

Allowing more immoral activity (using abortion as a contraceptive type thing) never helps. The only way to reduce the "need" for abortions is to reintroduce the concept of shame to society. But I don't see that happening anytime soon since shame isn't "fun".

Well, I don't think the figures bear you out on that "More and more" part, but back to your question.

No, I don't see it as a form of contraception, and no, it shouldn't be.

It does leave emotional scars on a woman to have an abortion.

I am male, and I view that as meaning I really don't have a right to have a view on the issue. And I have caught flak on that statement before.

If women decide abortion should be illegal, fine, it is their issue.

That said, rape, incest, and saving the life of the mother and that's it.

And the person committing the rape or incest should have their gonads immediately removed with a rusty scalpel.

Well, you asked.

Abortion is a tragic option of last resort and should never be used as a form of contraception.

After your 3rd abortion, you should be fixed, whether: a woman having her 3rd and any man who's responsible for three abortions(w/same woman or 3 different women), or the man should also have something painfully sucked out of his body. Then maybe you'd respect for yourself, your mate and life.

There's no reason anyone should let it get to that point. I know bareback feels way better than latex, but come on, stop being so selfish.

they're not using it as a form of contraception! They're using it as a last resort. Abortion is way too expensive and painful to use as a form of contrception!

abortion is not a form of contraception because contraceptions prevent fertilization but abortion is all about killing an unborn foetus

Abortion is birth prevention after the fact.

It's legal; you work out the moral aspect of it for yourself.
