everybody is gonna say something like just forget him.. other fish in the sea or run out and have a rebound fling.. sound great as an immediate fix.. but it is a short term and irrational decision to a lingering dilemma..
If I was in the same position, I would probably take this time of being single to reflect on what might have gone wrong and think things through to learn a lesson about myself. What could I have done better? How can I avoid this in the future.. Is this type of personality that he might have had really compatible to mine.. getting over someone takes time.. it's a natural reaction to disappointment.. and knowledge is the usual answer, Rushing into anything is a mistake waiting to happen.. and bad decisions always bring bad consequences.. rebound relationships work about 2% of the time.. why take the chance at further complicating an already torn mind? Give it time.. find someone better for you.. it will happen when the time is right.. why rush?
Good Luck :)
Keep your chin up.

You obviously dumped him for a reason. Write it down, put it somewhere you will see it, remember what separated you, too often we focus on the good times we had, and forget what caused the break-up. If you go back, the reasons for the break-up will quickly reappear. Go in a new direction, meet some new people, either on-line or in your area, get a fresh start, and leave the past behind.

If your with someone you get used to them. Its like an addiction. You miss him and thats all there is to it. Its ok to miss him. If you want to be with him still, let him know and try to work things out. If you know you dont want to be with him and you left him for a good reason, then just do things to get him off your mind. I know its not easy, but this does go away. Maybe things didnt end on a good note and your lacking closure. This is normal so dont worry, and it will get easier. But, if you want to be with him, then do it. If he wont take you back, then accept it.

It's natural, unfortunately you can't just switch off your thoughts, no matter what the reason was for breaking up with him.
Keep yourself busy and arrange time to catch up with friends.
