This is a question of semantics. It's about language. You might as well ask if Gott and Dieu are the same God too... As others have said, Allah is the Arabic word for the divine. Christian Arabs use the word 'Allah'. So any Christian who says 'Allah is not God' is actually speaking from an ignorant position of racism, not religious chauvinism.

As pertains Allah being a 'moon god', I have no idea what the relevance of this is. The Israelites had been polytheistic, and one of their gods was called YHWH. There's no point in denying this; archaeological records can show it.

So what? Nothing. Upon becoming monotheistic, they used one of the names they had been using. So what? Arabs - of all monotheistic religions - did the same thing.

No. The Christian God is the only God. The Bible states that no one can talk to God except through Jesus. Therefore praying to Allah does not get there.

I used to believe that all religions got you to the same place, but realized after alot of searching and studying on the web, that other religions only have a part of the knowledge.

I'm a Muslim Arab. I consider the Moon God thing the best fabrication done by some Evangelicals in the US to discredit Islam. The word Allah means "The Lord" in Arabic, and as another answer said, in cradle of Christianity, Arab Christians use the word Allah to refer to the divine.

Allah is just the Arabic name for God and Christian Arabs call their God Allah (thats what i heard) Muslims, Jews, Christians, have the same God and are similar but they have different beliefs. Like Christians say Jesus is the son of God and Islam says he isn't and he is prophet. All the scriptures were from the same God but people have changed it along the way.

For me personally Islam is the truth and Allah/God is the all powerfull and I follow his way and thats Islam.

Allah is a Moon god that came from a Pagan Pre-Islamic religion so henceforth Yahweh (Jehovah) God is different from Allah.

Yahweh is true God, Allah is a false god.

Both and all the others by any name what-so-ever must be same. What we mean by the word God, Allah, etc is a being with all possible capabilities at it fullest peak. There can be no scope for any competition at that stage. So even logically, it has to be one and only one. Name does matter to US, THE DIFFERING INDIVIDUALS, due to our dissimilarities !

Well, one of the basic tenets of Islam is that Allah is the god of Abraham. If you read the Bible, you will find that the God of Christianity is also the God of Abraham.

Seems to me it is the same.

Think most of us agree that there is only one God.
For some reason folks have a hard time believing that it is the same God simply because we call Him by many names.
Somewhere in the bible it says " And I shall be known as Jehovah... as well as...." and it goes on to list a whole wade of names, including Alla. (please don't quote my biblical grammar.)

Point being, don't think the Big Guy cares much about what you call Him. Long as you call Him every now and again.

Speaking of such, time for my bedtime prayers.
Nighty all.
