I'm from NC, plane tix to Montreal would be around $480, to DR would be about $560.

I would choose Montreal. Mainly because of the weather in summer. It is balmy in Montreal and brutally hot in summer in the Dominican. Secondly, you get a long period of daylight in Montreal because it is so far north.
Montreal is a cosmopolitan city, more like Europe than anywhere in the US.
If you like beautiful women with dark hair and pale complexion, you won't be able to stop saying Ooh, la, la.

Domenican Republic sounds awesome...I just looked it up..and its very different.
I opt for the different place unless I have a friend I am going to see...and Islands are always fun..
Thats my choice and wish I can come too.. Sounds awesome!!!

DR! It is very beautiful there and you will experience a culture that is very vibrant. I recommend a place called Punta Cana....which is very very nice and everyone that goes there says they loved it.
