I don't think it is a sin to feel that way , but like others the sin comes in the action. Have you tried discussing your depression/ suicidal thoughts with your minister or a counselor? There are tremendous amounts of new information and new products for depression. some are short term and some are long term, but whatever the case may be---please please please---get help ASAP! Suicide is nothing to joke about and if you are seriously thinking of taking your life, try to remember that suicide is sin, and also very selfish. It may seem that noone cares, but as a witness to 4 funerals in the last 6 months that were suicides, I can say from expereience how horrible it is for the friends and family to go through the guilt of never suspecting anything was wrong and taking the blame on themselves. It has torn so many lives apart, those decisions either made in the heat of the moment or festered so long that they were well hidden. As our small community still grieves these losses I pray that you will seek and find the help you so desparetely need and remember god didn't make mistakes there is a purpose to your life, you just haven't found it yet! Good Luck and please know that someone cares!

No it is not a sin to feel depressed and to temporarily want to die. It is an illness or a trial of the spirit. The sin would be in actually taking ones life. Even then only God knows for sure the state of that soul. We all have depressed moments and for some they are very trying. To doubt God's love and compassion is a sin. He loves you so if you're feeling depressed speak to Him!

I have felt that way before and my family is a good Christian family. Now, when someone says its not a sin to feel emotions as long as you don't do these things, don't listen to them. Yes, it's ok to feel depressed, but, you should pray for happiness and that you will stop being depressed and think ing negative. If you ever need someone to talk to about these things you can email me at emhahn87@yahoo.com or prairieteen_13@hotmail.com. I would like to help you through these things because at this point Christians need to stand together. I have Even went so far as to start a club for ages 10 to 15. It's an all girls club and if you kow anyone who has MSN or Yahoo Messenger please dont heitate to tell them about me. You have my email addresses and I hope you recomend me to some friends or family. I'm sorry if you are ahving ir rough.

It is not a sin to feel depressed because God gave us these emotions for a specific reason. If you want to talk about why you are depressed and want to talk, you can email me. I have been through some rough times in my life and while I may not be able to associate with your exact problem I can probably give you some verses to comfort your heart as your going through a tough time.

Sin no. There is something physically wrong with you. It all depends on what brought this on in your life. How long have you been this way. If you've been ill more than six weeks you must seek medical attention. Do you know Jesus as your personal saviour? If yes, then there can be things that come into our lifes some we bring on ourselves and some we can't help but I believe God allows these things to allow us to grow spiritually. Do you belong to a Bible based church???? It is important that you fellowship with believer's. You can't do this alone. You need help and support from fellow believer's that can pray for you and if you will hold your hand through these tough times. Ending your life will cause pain to those whom love you and have any relations to you. Speak up if they don't know this is going on in your life. I know cause I have suffered depression for many years. Jesus is the answer. Take life one day at a time. Please respond or write me at : juliolucadou@sbcglobal.net My name is Joann I would love to correspond and encourage you....
Waiting to hear from you......

Depression is a medical condition that can be treated. See your doctor. Immerse yourself in quality activities, and strive to make a difference in the world. Your work is not done.

no its not, deppression is an emotion, when things just get too tough. been there myself. God won't send you to hell because u werent smiling. thats not the loving father he is. he wants to help you through, he knows what is making you depressed, but he wants you to talk to him and tell him how feel. he wants to help you not condemn you. "i have a plan for you a plan to propers you and not to harm you to give you A HOPE and a Future."
God wants you to live and live the life he gave you with abuncence. to want to die is not a sin but to take your life is. To talk to God and talk to a counseler, start expressing why you feel the way you do instead of keeping everything inside.
Gods loves you. Be blessed!

I have heart disease and get depressed often.
I believe that depression is as bad as heart disease. I have gone through 3 heart catherazations. I have 4 stent implants, and have lost my job because of poor health. The only income is what comes from my wife's job. I have been trying to get disability payments for over a year.
The doctor said I must take my medicine if I want to live. I sometimes struggle and force myself to take this medicine.

I don't believe it's a sin to have any sort of feelings. The sin comes when we carry out some of these feelings.
