I told my grandma I got a gold medal, then she like totally popped my ego by saying "So what?". I've been aiming for a gold medal for four years already! And I'm the only gold awardee! Meaning I'm top of my class! Is it reasonable for me to feel angry and hurt?

Hhmm... maybe your grandma was trying to be sure that your ego didn't get too big, and accidentally really hurt you. Remember that she is of a different generation. She may have thought that you were bragging, and that she was doing you a favor by teaching you that you are not "more important" that anyone else, not matter what you achieve.
But boy!! That hurts huh? You work so hard, achieve your goal, and don't get praise from someone you love. ouch.
Listen, be proud of yourself....you earned it!!!
You don't need a pat on the back to know that you are top dog. Celebrate your accomplishment, make a new goal, and work towards it. Be humble in the process, and know that your Grandma probably didn't mean to be so cold.
As for your question about being upset--- of course it's reasonable. Just know in your heart of hearts that you deserved recognition, and sometimes other people just don't see things the way they are. It's okay to be mad, but don't stay mad. You are on to bigger and better things kiddo!!!
AND by the way....... GREAT JOB!!! Top of the class is absolutely phenomenal!!!!!
keep it up!!

It is normal and perfectly accetable for you to feel angry. I hope you didnt say anything bad to her though. Just stand out side and scream till you feel better then talk to her and say you would like to see her medal. Everyone including grandma's get a little snotty some times.

It's so disappointing when your expectations are disappointed by someone else's lack of sensitivity. Remember that her reaction was her reaction and nothing to do with anything you did or didn't do. She was unnecessarily mean but although you probably held her opinion in high esteem, you need to cherish the congratulations you got from everyone else and be proud of your self. I'm sorry she let you down.
