Hello,

With every language it takes time and also depends on how motivated you are, in learning Serbian.

It also depends on what you want to cover, when i am learning a langauage i structure my learning on what i have to cover and what will be next.

You could use audio cd or books whatever one suits you. Most people nowadays use Audio cd.s.

Take care

Well depends, it's very easy to learn to read and write since we have 30 letter alphabet in which every sign stands for a single voice.
But there is a trouble with declinations, every noun is changed trough 7 forms, depending with which preposition it's used.

There are a lot of exceptions and I think it would be pretty hard for you to learn it on your own, or even with a teacher, just learning these declinations by heart, like we did in Latin... It would be much easier to listen to it, talk to people who speak it and learn it that way...

Most foreigners have a lot of troubles with Serbian even when they spend a lot of time here, but to learn it enough to make a conversation even though with many mistakes... don't know... a few months... maybe, maybe more... may be even less if you are a talent ;)

Hello

The Serbian language is actually realy really easy to learn. They have a very limited number of vocabulary, such as
1-Kill all Bosnian
2-Bosnian must die
3-Get Bosnian into big grave
Oh, suprisingly, the three sentences above used all the words that they have in Serbian (kill-all-must-die-get-into-big-grave-Bosnian) Since it is the ONLY language in the world that has only nine words in it's vocabulary, the Serbian language is also known as the Nonaguage, short form of Nona- (latin meaning nine) and language. Congratulations! You just mastered the Serbian language. Have fun!

I don't know. It depends on how much time you study. Try finding friends from Serbia. Try going on mylanguageexchange.com
I think it's great that you want to learn a less common language.
Good luck :)
