It's not us who LOVE war it's the other countries that thrive on it just to embarrass the U.S.A. If it wasn't for all the threats and bombings and murders that Iraq and Afghanistan have taken pleasure in for so Many years there wouldn't be wars between countries. We've seen where innocent people have had their throats cut and your people just stand there and watch and enjoy seeing others bleed to death. Tell us that what we've seen didn't happen. Iraq has sent videos showing this happening. Get rid of al-Qaeda and his murdering followers then see peace come marching into take the place of war.

Um... No.
1) Afghanistan was appropriate.
2) Iraq should have been done back during Gulf 1.
3) Iran is violating international agreements and the UN backs this effort. Notice no war here. We are trying to work this out peacefully.
4) North Korea routinely has done things in an effort to destabilize South Korea. The Korean peninsula has been poised for war for more than 50 years. There is no peace treaty for the Korean War, just a truce.

I think that a new century started with September 11, unseen before, no open threat or enemy, more dangeous, more difficult, easier to kill and die...US felt that it began to lose power against this new asymmetrical power (al-Qaeda, nuclear totalitarian states) and decided to attack many possible ones, once there is no real big power (China, Russia, India) to challenge it. The state, the neoconservatives became agressive, not the nation, I think. But there is also the truth that nationalism (altough blurred in America, may be a communal identity achieved?) is rising in America, like in Europe and in the Islam world (in a different way, religious). I agree with Huntington; the wars of the future will be fought between civilizations, bloodless (may be) but more difficult and dangerous tahn the cold war...

nobody likes war. you can not blame a whole population. its the political leadership that matters for war. you ask a common American or for that matter any civilian in the world they are all against war. Americans don't have better option in the election so they are electing comparatively better person.
if you go through the war sites all the war fought by the Americans were far away from the American soil. so the common man did not get the burns. the American media is hardly reliable. so a common American do not have any idea whats going on on the other side of the glob. and unfortunately the image of Americans get spoiled. i hope you got the answer.

The US doesn't love war. It loves its people. Al Queda was running Afghanistan, and we went after them. That just so happened to be timed perfectly with the amount of time that Saddam Hussein had to destroy his weapons of mass destruction, which he didn't do, but instead shipped them off to Syria. Now with Iran builing a nuclear reactor, they could become Nuclear capable, and another nuke is just what we need. Same goes for North Korea. They have a missle that has the range to make it from N. Korea to America, and the point of a Military is to protect its nation. If you call loving citizens loving war, then YOU my friend, are insane.

Dont think anyone LOVES war - except for the occasional psycho. Sometimes, violence begets violence - if we are provoked, we should respond in a like manner. In response to people blowing things up and killing our citizens, should we just chalk it up to a dangerous world??? No! We should obliterate these people - PERIOD! Now I will grant you that we have gotten into some things that we probably should keep our noses out of, but remember this - any time in recent history (100 years) that there has been widespread conflict, it has been the USA who has come to the need (and RESCUE) of these countries (WWI, WWII, KOREA, GULF WAR) - lets just see what happens when Canada, Germany, France, etc start having bombs go off in their buildings, killing thousands of people

Not every American is a lover of war. War is a political decision and as with many countries, not sanctioned by all the people of t heir perspective countries - just the leaders.

We don't love war, we hate governments that oppress their people, who don't allow their citizens the right to choose their own religious and social path. In Afghanistan and Iraq, people who convert away from Islam were put under severe sanction of the government or killed. That's not allowing people to choose their own religious path. In N. Korea, they don't allow them to choose their own social path.
I disagree with the war in Iraq, but I understand it.
