do you think that this could be interpreted as Jesus telling us to keep quiet sometimes when he has helped us in our lives?

The reason why He told people not to say anything after He performed some miracles is because (what I've been taught and makes sense) that if everyone was told they would have forced Him into a kingship on Earth and there is a verse in the Gospels that says this: "Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world. When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone." Jesus, when He came the first time, did not come to be a King but a dying Savior. When He comes again, He will come to set up His Kingdom on Earth and in Heaven.

Even when Jesus requested that the people NOT tell of the miracle, those people were disobedinat & told the story anyway. The result was massive crowds of people wanting more & more of the miracles that Jesus could (& did) provide. Matthew 6:3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
People were wanting the "miracles" & not the Word which was & IS life!

There are at least 45,000 Protestant churches in the U.S.

What caused all these different beliefs if the MESSAGE is so clear?

What makes you believe that you have more than a 1 in 45,000 chance of being in the 'correct' church?

Did Jesus give up Saturday for us?

Jesus? Christianity? .

If Jesus died, he could NOT have been God.

Gods do not die? Do they?

If Jesus 'died' on Friday and 'undied' on Sunday, what else besides Saturday was sacrificed?

If Jesus died for our sins, there should not be any more sins, else why go through with it?.

If Jesus really DIED, he should be dead, dead, dead!

That occurred only on times where he needed some peace for a time to accomplish something else. There are several times where Jesus had to leave an area due to so many people crowding him.

He never shied from helping someone or talking with people if they asked and were truly desiring of knowledge. However, he did instruct not to "cast pearls before swine". Which means not to waste time telling the truth to those who have no desire to hear.

Maranatha132 made a good point about massive crowds wanting more and more. Even Jesus himself said at John 6:26 that many kept seeking him out for selfish reasons. So it may be that Jesus told them not to advertise his miracles because he wanted people to believe in him based on his teachings and miracles, rather than on sensational reports that they would be hearing.

interesting question.... yes, i agree that maybe he needed some and quiet..in addition to this, it is characteristic of God to have an appointed time for everything..... maybe it was not time to publicize a certain event...or maybe it was only for the person'a personal benefit first... once that finally made an an impression, then they could tell others later...it gives a person time to think and reflect before they open their mouth.... more time to interpret the situations properly...

Mark 7 (Healing of a deaf and mute man)
36Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone. But the more he did so, the more they kept talking about it.

Matthew 17 (Transfiguration)
9As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus instructed them, "Don't tell anyone what you have seen, until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead."

I believe you may be referring to one of these, but after Jesus ascended he gave the great commison, so the disciples were supposed to spread the good news.

Matthew 28
16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Jesus had lots of devoted fans in his day. Much like today's celebrities. People hungered for more of what Jesus had to say, and for the miracles he could perform.
Like today's celebrities, Jesus needed time alone to rest and pray.

Matthew 8:4 (NKJV)
And Jesus said to him, "See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."

______________

Every instance (that I know of) when Jesus told people to be quiet concerned some type of MIRACLE He performed.

As in the Gospel of John...Jeusus speaks to his mother....
John 2:1-4 (NKJV)
On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. [2] Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. [3] And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, "They have no wine." [4] Jesus said to her, "Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come."

Jesus did do the miracle, but he did not fully reveal who he was. Mary was asking him to show them who he was. He did not...but he did make the wine.

________

His hour had not come...the timing wasn't right... Timing for What?

The revealing of who he truly was...the messiah.

There were many things that Jesus had to wait for because the timing was not right.

John 7:8 (NKJV)
You go up to this feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, for My time has not yet fully come."
_________

I do not believe that we are to sometimes keep quiet about the works of Jesus in our lives. We are to be salt to this dying world. We do need to have tact. We don't need to hit everyone with the Bible that we meet. It isn't meant to be a weapon, but we aren't supposed to be silent either.
