Good question, I've always thought that. We are always told its not what you have its who you have that makes a good life. Surely the same must go for death?
I've lost someone very dear to me, so I'd kind of be alright if I died, as i would be with them, but I'd still be gutted that I wasn't with all the other people that I love.
people earn love and I suppose if you are a christian, you would say who has earned your love more than Jesus Christ bla, bla bla. But politicians, doctors, nurses, I dunno tons of people have so called earned something from me, but I don't love them. Jesus may have saved me, but I don't love him, I don't know him!
What the bible should have said to get round this little problem is that when the living go to sleep they visit the dead and they can carry on as normal for 8hrs. But the wake rarely remember because that's Gods wish or something.
The way I coped with this thought when i lost my mum when i was a kid was to think that she became a guardian angel who looked over me, and my family. At the time I was convinced that she made good things come my way.
God! I thought you said no religious nuts! some of your answers are rubbish, do you not read the question! I like the one about falling out of time when you die. However how dull must death be without any sin. I love a bit of sin! Infact we all do its in our nnature

When we get to heaven we leave earth and all the people on it behind, and just have an awesome time, so you don't need to worry about being sad and missing people because you won't, you'll just feel happy. The entire point of it is that it is beyond our understanding, only God knows how it works, so you've just got to put faith in the fact that the people you know who've died n gone to heaven are having such a great time they're not missing you and get on with it, just looking forward to the day you get there. (Obviously I don't mean forget about them all together, but don't dwell on the past cos nothing can change it.)

You must always remember to put God first in everything and believe in Heaven and only then you will not regret. I am sure of it, read the bible more often and you will know there will be a Heaven. I tell you something, whoever believes in Jesus shall never die. It does not mean that you wil not die on earth but will live eternally with God in Heaven. Read this book: heaven is so real and you will know how heaven looks like
Glory and praise to God!

If God and eternity were a tree, and each leaf a living soul (being a part of God) the free flight in the fall would be heaven with all the other leaves. Eventually when the season is right the tree will bring your substance back to the branch tip again.

The Bhagavad-Gita explains the following:
1. We are eternal spiritual souls who are neither created nor die.
2. The soul may acquire a material body depending on its actions and desires or it may return back to the spiritual world to live with God.
3. There is no permanent happiness in this material creation. Permanent and real happiness is only to be found in the spiritual world. All familial attachments are temporary as we can see even with some parent and child relationships which break down or gradually move apart.
4. In the material creation there are many planets designated as heavenly, hellish or somewhere in between. Earth is described as somewhere in between. However, on all planets whether heavenly or hellish, the soul will experience birth and death.
Whether you believe this or the christian concept of one life - God in all scriptures advises us not be too attached to our families/friends since our eternal relationship is with Him.

Stop wasting your time thinking about what will happen AFTER you die. We all agree on one point - every one of us have that day coming.
Heaven is what you make of. God does not exist.
Do good right here, on this earth. You want to focus on doing good? God does not do that, you do.
Help the poor, the downtrodden, the ones who are unfortunate to have incurable diseases, famine, flood, earthquate victims etc.. etc.. Go there. Help them. They are the so called God's people. If you are in a position to help them, then the so called God will take care of you by giving you heaven when you are still living. That satisfaction you derive is the heaven. I know this personally.
Those who say heaven exists let them prove it. I can prove helping those who are not so fortunate is the heaven. Let's see who comes out ahead on this.

I don't know if you're asking this question after seeing that report about heaven done by Barbra Walters, but the report was not that good....
I'll tell you what i know about heaven, and the way to it.....
first, you die, and you will stay in the ground, not heaven nor hell.
but if you were good in you life, then, your stay in your grave will be good, and vice versa.
of course, you wont stay in your grave for ever, you'll be there till the Resurrection day, when the world ends.
at that time, all ppl will be resurrected from death, and will proceed to the final judgment by god.
then you will go to either heaven, or hell
there are many details that wasn't mention

Well when you leave this Earthly tent (leave your mortal body) then IF you are a Christian you go to be with Christ. Since God lives in the eternal "now" then all those you love are already there.
You have gone from time to timelessness. So you will not "miss" anyone...you will be together in Christ forever, where there is no more death, sickness, sorrow, disease..or sin

The is a heaven, because God said there is, and His word is better than gold. Your thinking about this matter is all twisted, and you are being vulger to boot, when you use the word cr*p. Better read the Bible more closely, and change your way of thinking if you are any kind of Christian at all.

Remember God is greater than us, his ways are higher than ours
Isaiah 55:9
"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
No one in heaven probably is truly happy, but as God tells those already there in Revelations, they must wait a little longer.
Note: In this scripture those slain refers to all believers in Christ who have died, it is a metaphor.
Revelation 6
9When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. 10They called out in a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?" 11Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed.
It is not heaven we are anticipating, but rather the new Earth. For heaven has been stained by sin (Satan's rebellion) just as Earth has been stained (Adam's sin). So they must both be made over.
Revelation 21, The New Jerusalem
1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
