Research helps us to understand a subject or topic better because it gives us precise answers to questions we may have. Research also helps us to ask better questions: for example, if we didn't know anything about the internet, we could research what it was at first, and then do more research to discover more components of the internet, such as businesses, entertainment, information, etc.

When you do research on a topic, you can discuss it intelligently. You can argue for or against a position with credibility.

When you attempt to discuss a topic about which you know nothing or very little, your lack of knowledge is obvious and you will appear foolish.

May be coz when you do research of something you come to know each and every thing about it and collects facts of anything

it is important to be able to know the facts about certain things. this way you can form an educated opinion , instead of taking the opinion of another. it also enables you to differentiate fact from opinion.
