Snakes is consider as a evil in biblical history. But we the oeople knows it have to respect the other belief, like indians they believe that snakes bring then a googluck and there was a town in india celebrating the luck brought by snakes, and in fact this celebration means that they are vety thankful that snakes exists in our life, for me snakes is God's creature one of the God's creature we both need the nature to live.

Because just like with anything else, it all depends on our own perception... The snake to them I think represents the Kunkalini Energy and also if I'm not mistaken, the reknewal of life(reincarnation) because of the shedding of skin! The Caduce that we see in medecine represents Kundalini also (2 snakes and a stick) .Ouroboros : the snake eating itself is a symbol of Eternity so...
