when i say marketing it is the way some religion do it - by offering some thing and converting people or converting forcefully, going home to home saying how best their religion is and how others are not good (indirectly).

Always, I express my opinion and not the marketing of organized religions (I consider them as the greatest businesses! - aren't they?)
When people listen to me and ask me more, I tell them more. When they ask me what to believe, I answer: NOTHING!
It is stupid to claim that I know more than another person, regarding his/ her choice! Similarly, I consider stupid if someone comes to me pressing me to accept his/ her believes! Especially when they can not prove anything by logic!
I do not promote any religion, since I consider them as the weapon of the unseen governors to suppress people and extend their time on the throne!
What I like to do is to assist, during dialogs and free discussions, my fellow people to use their organ within their head: their brain!

Firstly, I do not believe in MARKETING your religion because firstly, Christianity is not something that can be marketed.

I believe in converting people from another religion because my Lord and saviour Jesus Christ has commanded us to spread the word. The amazing thing is that, he has mentioned to Choo Nam, that the world is near to an end and half of the unbelievers in this world will be saved.

Glory be to God on high!

Hi hibernation,
It is always best propagate one's religion' or market it, as you say. That too, the propagation should be more in terms of deeds and acts rahter than through sermons or speeches. The Lord said, "spread the good news to all nations". He didn't say "convert all nations". Our task is to spread the news or inform (through our deeds) i.e., to plant the seed. It is the task of the Holy Spirit to germinate the seed and make it grow. Thus marketing is our job, not converting.

I believe that religion is a very personal thing, so no to trying to convert people. But sometimes it's nice to get invited to someone's church. I feel awkward going uninvited. And I've found that the churches that most eagerly invite you have the beliefs most contradictory to my personal beliefs. I'd like someone to invite me to a Friend's Meeting House or a Buddhist Temple, but no one has. I don't even know where to find a Buddhist Temple.

I don't think agnosticism is marketed. Maybe I'm just unaware of it. But yes, I do support conversion from one religion to another if that's what works for the individual.

For me, i would not because I am a christian. And I would rather spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, my Lord and saviour, then marketing my religion and converting poeple from other religion and if you read his book, Heaven is so real, you will feel inspired and Jesus said that he is NOT going to force people who doesn't want to accept him.

If they repent to the Lord, our lord then can reveal himself to us! Isn't he amazing?

So its your decision. Its all up to you!

I am quite happy for folks to promote ('market' if you will) their beliefs - religious or otherwise.

TO use "convert" as a verb seems to me to imply force or coercion (even an element of "winning") ... I would rather words like "encourage" or "persuade" were used.

Peace out

No.
I never try to convert people and I rarely bring up my religion. If someone wants to know, I tell them, and if they express interest in learning more, I tell them how to do that. But if someone says "Oh" and isn't interested, that ends the conversation.

First of all religion isnt trade, people change to other religions because they have found the truth for themselves.

persuasive evangelism is not something of a hobby i pursue. if i believe in something and i know it sounds rite i'll tell you about it, if you want to believe or not its up to your "free will" im not gonna try and bait you into parties that end up with some pastor lecturing on you about life and Who saves you and who doesnt. Sorry to put in some opinionated bias here: but God, that s.hit just pisses me off all the time.
