I've heard that being selected is hard so is there a branch that has a higher chance? Also what other factors should persuade someone to go with one over the other?

Well, I've already spent 5 years in the Marines so I don't necessarily want to fight and I'm not naive enough to think I can jump in and be a fighter pilot. I just want to fly - preferably fixed wing. I just want to join the branch with the best options and chances of being selected.

At the Airforce Academy they use Navy pilots to help instruct, the Navy uses Navy Pilots only to instruct. If you want to be a Pilot Go Navy.

It depends on what kind of pilot you want to be. Fort Rucker, the US Army has the helicopter school. Most all other aircraft are assigned to the Air Force, Navy, and a few to the Marines.

In the Army Warrant Officers fly most of the Helicopters and we have tons of them!
You can enlist for Warrant Officer Candidate School and then you would go to flight school.
The Army has very few fixed wing and they are all small transport aircraft (like executive jets)

The US Navy! It is probably the most difficult to get into, but they train all Naval Aviators (you fly onto and off of aircraft carriers). The training is intense and perfect vision is mandatory...give it a try. My cousin was lost after high school and enlisted....he now flies F16's and made the Navy his career. He loves his job, and is very happy. Good Luck!

Since all branches have flying personel, it might be best to take the tests for each one and see how you score. The standards are very high in all services, out of necesity.
