Maybe you mean this? About two years ago, I met a very nice fellow online who lives in England. We began a relationship almost immediately, and we became extremely close. After a while, I did not want to date or see anyone else but him, but all along, he did not really want to meet with me. He never honestly said why - and after two years, he felt badly and guilty for what he was doing to me - and so he let me go - in order that I could find love right in my own back yard. I feel he was unselfish because he could have kept me - I would have let him - and he knew it. I miss him to this day for he means so much to me but I respect his privacy and I don't try to contact him.

My great aunt fell in love with a lad when she was 19, and he had to go away to fight in WW2.

He had only been there a few weeks when he was killed.

My great aunt did not want anyone else for the rest of her life. She lived and died alone, a virgin.

She was truly in love with this man, and as they did not have time to marry before he was called to war, so they never cemented their relationship.

This story borke my heart when she told me how much she had loved this one man who she lost, and never wanted another.

She died 2 years ago.

My parents met when they were 4 years old, and lived next door to each other until my dad moved away when he was 5. Then years later at a college party my dad heard my moms name mentioned and remembered her. So he went and talked to her, she didn't remember him, but my grandma did. My mom and dad ended up getting married and have been married for 22 years.
