It's because the 'god' you are referring to is based on the tribal god "Yahweh", who was bloodthirsty and warlike. Thus 'god' is a mixed bag of tricks, one minute benevolent, the next wrathful. A bit capricious and contradictory, if you ask me. And you are right, no decent god would need blood sacrifices to prove love to him or her.

Seriously, what are you on about? God is love. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body! You're quoting from the old testament, before JESUS!!! Since Jesus, we can do nothing to earn our way into Gods good book, as He was the sacrifice for all our sins forever and ever. Think about it, how could God, who is absolutley perfect let people like us into his presence. We may think that by other people's standards we're not doing too badly, but we've all done something wrong at some stage. That's why God needed sacrifices, but he doesn't any more because its all been done forever and ever. You just have to accept it.
I also think you have just found your answer to the last question. If God let his son die for us... then he's got to love us! Why else would you do that?
If you think God is your jailer, then its just in your head. Since Christ died we are no longer doomed by sin, but we are free because we can't earn our way into heaven so don't need to try. If you do it's just lealism, trying to add to what is already done and finished.

God can be a jailer when it's inside people's heads, in fact there is no God and there is no malice or love either because God is a figment of people's imaginations...a book is just a book and that is the only place you will find the Christian god, he is a fictional character,
There are no eyewitness accounts in the Bible nor are there any other contemporary accounts from sources outside the bible other than reported hearsay which to me makes the story of Jesus highly suspicious and the likelihood of his existence most improbable.

throughout my existence, commencing first with a conservative Baptist upbringing, I unquestionably have been taught diverse formulation and interpretations as to what someone desires to do to get carry of salvation. The Baptists say which you basically could desire to settle for Christ into your heart. Others (Church of Christ) say which you would be able to desire to be baptized additionally, and the assembly of God says which you would be able to desire to admit at the same time with your mouth publicly. i think of that God is familiar with someone's genuine heart, a particularly frightening concept, and faith's tries to create and interpret formulation to get God's grace grow to be very difficult certainly. additionally, the passage which you point out in Romans (10:13-15) sounds rhetorical to me. I do think of, even although, which you're suited in that if somebody stories a real conversion, their lives will replace.

Well, there is the God of the Bible, a concoction of propaganda to freak out the enemies of Israel and keep little children in line, and then there is the God/dess within which makes you look at the stories of old and ask why? I think you can figure it out from there.

God's son died for you. This is love and all you can say now is that God does not love you. Check your facts too. It was not God who killed Jobe's family, it was God who helped Jobe survive this time.

uuhh it was not GOD who did that to Job. Satan told God that he had us wraped around his finger and Satan wanted a test. He wanted to prove that Job would curse God for his sickness. So God said you can do anything you want "But you can not take his life". Satan did these things not God. Go back a reread the story.
Oh and Job never cursed God even through all the stuff he was put through by "Satan"

Oh NO. God is the ONE who gets you out of "jail"!!!
May I try to answer this for you in a very simple way.
It will be easier if you have children (so if you don't have any think of your parents).
I love my kids with all my heart. I don't want them to get hurt in anyway. Should something bad happen to them I will gladly give my life in exchange for theirs.
Unfortunately if they do something wrong, I also will discipline them and teach them the right way of doing thing. Now this in turn leads to them loving me and doing their best to please me.
This is the same.....God is the "dad" and I am his child.
He is the example I follow in my life and I will do my best to please him. Not because I am afraid of Him but because I LOVE HIM.
