Rev. 17:8 ?

Question

The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwel on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the best that was, and is not, and yet is..

What the heck is this all about? has this already happen? going to happen?

I am trying to find out who the mark of the beast will be, or what country, church, occult , trying to not be decieved..

"was..is not..is about to come.."That referrs to the Lamb.
The FIRST coming. The beast appeared once.

You have to understand, there are 2 comings in Revelations.
They both start with (R)'s. Rapture and Revelation (Reveal).

Christ is coming 3 times. not 2.

The Birth, was The first coming.

The beast is the anti-Christ who shall receive his power from satan hence the ascending part. An attempt will be made on his life and he will come back from the dead or apparently from the dead and the whole world who are not Christians (names in the book of life) will wonder at him. This has not happened yet but will during the great tribulation.

what it means is that this is what will happen to the people that are left here in earth after the Lord takes his people, which is the rapture. (names in the book of life is the names of those who accepted him as thier personal Saviour) and the people that chose not to believe in him will be left in earth an will sufer the consequences... get it?

When it talks about the Beast; it always refers to the Mediaeval Catholic Church. In Revelation; it talks about a past beast of the Roman Church, and a one that is(Italy and Germany ending in the Hitler-Mussolini Axis 1870-1945AD.that was in Front pg. of S.F. Chronicle with "Heal Wound of Many Years"; Feb.12, 1929.) and the future beast that will come out of the Catholic Church.

Rev.17:8 describes the beast that was(Past Tense), and is not(not now), but will be. This talks about this in Rev.17:10.

REV.17:10 was fulfilled on television when the Papacy said "that Benedict would be Pope for a short time."

These 10 (Rev.17:12-13)rulers will be giving their support to a coming union of church and state in Europe, which will aspire to world dominance. After an interlude of apparent peace and prosperity, the system will plunge the whole world into a nightmare(World War 3). That's why Jesus has to come back; he has to save the world from total destruction. Matthew 24:21,22,29,30.

MARK OF THE BEAST
Rev.13:16 "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive the mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads."
Rev.14:9 "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, if any man worship the beast(Sunday) and his image(teachings of Catholic Church), and receive his mark in his forehead(affections), or in his hand." (Rev.14:9 refraining from labor on THAT DAY). (See Eccles.9:10; Rom.7:25).

The Mark of the beast is 666! To accept the beast's mark is to not accept God's Holy Sabbath Day Saturday as Working on the Sabbath.

ACTUALLY THE MARK OF THE BEAST IS WHAT PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND! IT'S VERY SIMPLE REALLY; YOU HAVE TO DO THE OPPOSITE OF IT.
THE OPPOSITE OF THE MARK IS THE (Deut.6:8)"SEAL OF GOD" WHICH IS IN THE 4TH COMMANDMENT(EXOD.20:8-11; REV.14:7). NOW LOOK WHAT REV.7:2-3 SAYS "AND I SAW ANOTHER ANGEL ASCENDING FROM THE EAST, HAVING THE SEAL OF THE LIVING GOD: AND HE CRIED WITH A LOUD VOICE TO THE FOUR ANGELS, TO WHOM IT WAS GIVEN TO HURT THE EARTH AND THE SEA. SAYING, HURT NOT THE EARTH, NEITHER THE SEA, NOR THE TREES, TILL WE HAVE SEALED THE SERVANTS OF OUR GOD IN THEIR FOREHEADS."
SO IF YOU KEEP SATURDAY HOLY(JN.4:22-24) AND FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST FAITH; YOU WILL HAVE THE(REV.14:12) "SEAL OF GOD".
BUT IF YOU DON'T KEEP HIS DAY(MARK) AND FOLLOW THE CATHOLIC CHURCH(IMAGE); HE WILL GIVE YOU THIS(REV.14:9-11).
