There are two "babylons" mentioned in the Bible in prophecy. There is political Babylon and Religious Babylon, both of which are destroyed in the Great Tribulation in Revelation. IT is speculated that USA is the Political Babylon, and the Catholic Church the Religious Babylon. The reason that USA does not appear to be in end time Bible prophecy is because it will be wiped off of the face of the earth early in the tribulation and political emphasis will return to the Middle East where it always was during Bible times. Of course this is complicated but if you read Jeremiah 50 - 51 you can find 19 characteristics of that great end time nation that fit the USA and no other nation in history. That nation will be destroyed in a one day nuclear war and will never be inhabited again. To answer your question, yes, it could very well be talking about America.

The 18th chapter of Revelation is proof that Babylon is not just about religion. The merchants put dirt on their heads (verse 19) because their financial dream has disappeared.
Is it about America in the last day?
Yes and no.
Babylon girdles the globe. It answers to no king, president, or prime minister. It is the control system against God. It contains money control (control of currency) mind control (control of education), opinion control (control of the media), faith control (control of this world's religions), drug control (control of medicine and psychotropics medication, and recreational substances). It includes control of those entities in the United States and every other civilized nation. In many ways it is more powerful than individual nations. The people at the top of Babylon finance both sides of all wars. So no matter who wins, they always win. They care not which side wins just so long as the agony continues for a long time and they see their interest mount up.

Damn, you mean I have to look it up? Give me a sec ....
Oh THAT Revelation 18 ....
2 - 3 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
Ah ... No. Tell you why ....
Revelation has already been fulfilled. It was written by John in prophesy about Rome. Sorry ... but ya know ... sometime the patterns do repeat themselves.

I don't know... it could be :) But I just wanna say that the Babylon Jeremiah prophisied about as pointed out by a few people is not the same as Babylon the Great from Revelations... THAT Babylon, the original city, was in fact destroyed and is nothing but ruins today! So his prophecy was fulfilled :)

That's a great avatar. I think you need "Grammarcheck" (if they
dont have such a thing, they should), but anyway, NO, the
entire Book of Revelations refers to the Last Days period. There
are two different schools of thought tho, the "Pre-millenial" and
the "Post-millenial", i.e, is all this supposed to take place before
the thousand year reign of Christ, or after? There's also the
pre-rapture and post-rapture concept: does this all take place
before everyone is raptured, or after? But regardless, "behold,
here is mystery".......Revelation is just that, revelation to man
of what will transpire (is currently to a degree) when it's all over.
(Well, it's NEVER actually all over), but trust me, all this will
come to pass, Revelations that is. Be ready.
(and if you're of the post-rapture school of thought, start
practicing now, jump up and down on a trampoline).

I think the book of Revelation is talking about me. Not to be blasphemous, but only to say that I read the Bible in a very personal way.
I don't try to predict the future, or identify people in prophecy.

No, the person who wrote Revelations was completely unaware of the existence of America, therefore he could not have been talking about it.
