I'm thinking of changing my religion to pagan. I have enought of Christianity, it doesn't have what I belive. Also my Ansesters where pagan so why not me?
So can anyone out there help me with some much needed info.
And where I live if you mention the "P" Word, you can guess what reaction they have.

Another thing I've been thinking about it for 4 years. and No i'm not staying with a FAKE religion which hides the truth about life. No offence I like seeing people in pure happyness with their religion beliving what they want its just deep down inside I'm supposed to be a Healer of some kind.
i've been dreaming about it alot recently.

Pagans, wickens new agers etc are the best...
They are not nasty like chrisitians who only ever used to repress people and quote their nasty bible whilst burning people alive, relgious wars etc...
Pagans like sex and sexuality and beauty and affection and fun.
They are not sexist and see males and females as two parts of a whole and equal. And that includes behavour like you being flirty, wanting to be kissy and pawy with boyfriend.
Its all part of nature.
They have no problems with gays either.
Their ethical system is as long as it harms none do as you will.
They are the true relgion in the sense of many of the christian and other relgions stole their festivals (ie easter... the easter bunny was origonally the easterous hare (or sounds something like that) a pagan fertility god of spring... look it up.
The wickens were early doctors and the herbs still work. Other magic is based around psychology.
Think hippies.
Women are empowered unlike in christianity this is why they say its immoral and wicked ...
Its their way of keeping the girlies down.
Check out new age shops.
As you said if you mention the P word it shows chrisitn scum in their true nature. Best described in the iris magdelen laundry system

Pagans would never be that nasty.
And this is from an athiest not a pagan... I just see that pagans have the right idea even if I don't Believe in astrology... Pagans are soo cool.
Nothing nasty about them...
The other relgions make up all the nasty burn in hell stuff up about them as they are competition and actually they are nicer.
As for getting in touch as said crystal new age shops should help. Other then that check the net.
or just quit on all relgions...
PAganisiam is not about worship though

I would probably try looking up wicca or druid or shaman type things or new age. New Age is the section in Barnes and Noble or Borders where you would find the right kind of books. I was raised pagan so I've always had guidance, but I think you should just start reading and find what interests you. Although now I am an atheist, but helping is still good. I like more wiccan or druidic type paganism or that is what I did. I would reccomend Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cuningham or Druidcraft: The Magic of Wicca and Druidry By Philip Carr-Gomm.

Just read alot and learn.
Don't hastily jump from one religion to another. I have a few Pagan friends and there are some great benefits to the religion, like a love of nature and a respect for female figures.
Just remember that the "opposite" religion is not always the next logical choice... and do not consider yourself a Pagan or any other religion if it is only to anger people around you. If you have a problem with Christianity, I suggest getting comfortable with and accepting that difference before leaping into a new faith.
Good Luck on your Journey!

When a religion does not give you what you want in life the answer is definitely not converting into another religion !!! if you are tired of chrsitianity, you must know that all other religions will lead you to the same point eventually. The only way in life is Humanity not Christianity, Islam or even Paganism. Humanity has everything you need in it. Humanity means living a happy life, helping your fellow man, having a family and try to make a better world for you and the coming generations and For such a path you need no religion or God to tell you what to do. Be a good person in life and that's all that matters. Good Luck

The only criteria for being Pagan is the desire to know yourself better thru the study of nature, the meaning of spirituality, the "old" Gods and Goddesses, and to realize that there is a "Higher Power" no matter what your religion calls it.
There is no "right" or "wrong" religion, just different ways of believing in something that is bigger than ourselves. No one has the right to tell us what to believe in, that is something we have to decide on ourselves.
There are a great many books on the the study of paganism/wiccanism/druidism/shamanism, whatever kind you are interested in studying. A couple of good websites to look into are: witchvox.com and llewellyn.com, they both can answer a lot of your questions.
I have been Pagan for about 10 years now and I've done the Solitary thing and the Coven thing. Either way is good, and when you need to find a "teacher" --- one will find you.
Blessed Be,

Well, for one thing, Paganism isn't a religion in itself. It's just a word to describe religions that aren't Monotheist.
Secondly, I think you should do a little more research on Paganism before you decided to convert. You seem to harbor a lot of misconceptions. I provided you a link below to help you along in that direction.
Lastly, Pagans for the most part are great people! They're very understanding and diplomatic. I've been Wiccan for 7 years now.

What do I think about the Pagans? I probably don't view them as harshly as most Christians.Considering I was one before I turned to Jesus Christ. I got involved with my family, and learnt my culture through them.
My ancestors and grandparents were Pagans aswell, which is partially why I became a Pagan for so many years. I felt it was the right path for me. But after following it I opened my heart to Jesus Christ, and I knew instantly Paganism was not the Path for me.
You could be destined to be a healer of some kind. God could be trying to tell you to something in your dreams. Possibly Reiki.

I'm pagan. I always was, I just didn't know what to call it until I was 25.
If there aren't any pagans where you live (you'd be surprised!) then READ.
Pagan Pride Day is every September, usually the 3d weekend. Go to the one in your area and make some friends. Link below.
Witches Vox is a good place to learn as well.
My website is the 3d one down; there are many articles on it (everything's free) including my path to paganism.
Good luck. Write to me if you want guidance.

This is a really hard topic to discuss, since there is something call free will. I was on the same situation and found comfort in paganism, it was my call. There is something call the spiritual awakening, it is when you start questioning your self, when you are looking and cant find the answers, keep looking, unfortunately it is a journey you have to take by your self, you and only you can find what fills your soul, that special spiritual journey it is an amazing one when you find what you are looking for. Take your time, do some research, If you want you can start by reading some Gnosticism books, they are really crude but will calm the thirst for what you are looking for, also look into the spiritual awakening I have some documents that if you want to I can translate them and email the to you....Welcome Home your call has been made..it is up to you if you want to answer.......don't be scare to look into it, be part of this wonderful journey....many blessings to you.....

Why don't you look on witchvox.com or meetup.com and see if you can meet some people in your area who can teach you. You'd be surprised how many people you'll find. There are almost 200 people in the meetup group in my local area alone. But we'd never know if it wasn't for meetup.com
If you're under 18 though, you should wait till your 18th birthday to proceed. Always follow your parents rules while you're a child, it just makes things easier for everyone. In the meantime, there are many Pagan books and websites to explore. Mine is at http://www.sacredhearth.com and it's got a reading list in the Library section.
