There are so many christians in the world, but who can say they actually live the way God tells us to in the bible? Why do people call themselves Christians (which literally means follower of christ) if they do not follow Jesus?

I don't remember asking why aren't christians perfect, so let me clarify: I am not asking why are christians not perfect! Also, I am Christian. I use to be a so-called "christian." I used it as a label more than anything else. Although, I still believed in God and Jesus, I just didn't live or act like I did. I have learned that there is more to being a christian than just believing in God and Jesus, and that is to live like Jesus. I know we are not perfect, and i for one am definitely not! So please do not accuse me of judging. I would just like to know what other people think too...

Good question. Unfortunately most people take the "sheep" line a little too literally and think nothing of the meaning of the words spoken by Jesus.
Instead, it is the words of preachers, of popes and apostles and Paul that seem more important. If this is not insane enough, many christians prefer the Old Testament and not the reputed words of Jesus because the OT is much more emphatic about curses, death, God's wrath than "peace and love" from Jesus.
Cutting and pasting horrible Bible quotes is about the best some Christians can do. They wouldn't know Jesus if they tripped over him in the street.

i'm fairly effective, given the susceptible and trite examples right here, that maximum Christians particularly do not care to annoy with those who for some reason purely can't get their minds around the very incontrovertible actuality that God and their beliefs are not all about you, homosexuals, or a warfare that no longer truly do a lot of them loathe and talk-out adverse to, yet of route had no longer something to do with starting off it contained in the first position. At perfect, George Bush is basically an in a position puppet of the forces that administration him, the media, and each and each and every of the funds that create and keep up such conflicts. What, precisely, do you assume Christians to do about activities that were before reported about that they were really going to ensue contained in the first position?

Not many people live in complete harmony with their Faith. I am a Christian, and I have to check myself daily. When I eat, I pray as Jesus told us to, asking for forgiveness, as we forgive. Prayer and forgiveness, are a part of my daily spiritual diet.
I call my self a follower of Christ, because he leads. I am behind him, not beside him, or in front.

I follow Jesus and live the way I should according to his commandment "Love thy brother". Although I used to get very caught up in worldly distractions.

Me - I believe but i don't live right. I don't think that makes me a hypocrite though because I do beleive and I love Him as a Christian should, but not as the best Chirstian unforntantly.

No fair! You asked 2 questions: CHEATER!
If anyone could live up to God's standard, then Christ need not have died.
Rom 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

By picking and choosing what they will do and will not do in accordance to the tradition of their tribe ... I mean religious affiliation.
Oh ... and Christian means "Little Christ" by the way.
