I was wondering that since light has some speed, everything that we see has taken some time before it reaches us...evrything that we think we are doing have already happened..though some infinitesimal time before...
I wonder why people say live match on Tv...It takes some time for the signals to reach your Tv..that it is not live...it is past that ya watching

Very true buddy!! and it takes real intelligence to see this loophole.

An even more important fact is that our minds are always in the past or the future, never in the present moment. Indian yogis have been saying for millennia that if one can be completely aware of the present moment he can decide his destiny to the point where he decides how he lives, dies and how and where he is born, including which womb to be born into and everything in between.

This may sound fairytalish but in India we still have people who are capable of such feats and there is sufficient proof of their capabilities.

Enjoy!!

The time it takes to receive a phone call is considered to be near instantious, even though the speed of electricty in a wire is slower than the speed of light.
I have satellite TV and if you compare it with local broadcast TV on the same channel you get a noticable 1 second lag. That's becasue the satellite signal is beamed from the ground, into space, and back to the ground which is a longer distance than it is from my local station to my TV. However, even that time lag is not really important. If an Amber alert is anounced on TV, or Satellite TV, on Radio, or Satellite Radio, I learn would learn about it at the same time (or close enough).
The light speed lag can be a problem with interplanetary exploration. A signal sent to Mars, our nearest neighbor, can take an hour or more depending on the postion of Earth and Mars. So it is impossilbe to direct a Mars Rover in real time. One idea proposed several years ago was to send a rover to the moon and let children control it in, near, real time from Earth.

Still, we live in the now and assume that any thing that happens within a few seconds is also in the now. Therefore “live” TV can be broadcast from Europe to the United States and it is still considered as live. Also that TV transmission, in Europe, is recorded in the now, and is sent out as a live signal.

You are right. That is the best that science can do at this moment.I am sure that things will take a turn for the better in the near future.Just hang on till then,
You want to know something.I am against the teaching of history in schools. They study what our heroes have done but studenuyts have not been taught to analyse the mistakes that were made.Teaching of history should be done critically with the future in mind.We should not dwell on the past. That,i feel is the root cause of racism and war between countries.Taka care.GOD BLESS YOU.

yes I do believe that, bcoz we are more concerned of what happened yesterday/last week/last month/last year than what's happening today.
