I'm a smoker, but I would feel more comfortable farting around somebody than smoking. Farting is natural, if we didn't do it, we'd die. We don't need to smoke, although some of us chose to. I don't think we should force others to smell our smoke. It's bad and hard to quit.

not everybody hates the smell of smoke!! moreover once upon a time smoking was considered a cool thing..it's only recently that people came to know about the bad effects of it...

That's a good question. I consider smoking to be more rude than farting. Everyone farts, but you have a choice whether or not to smoke.

There is arsenic in tobacco and also other chemicals to help it stay alight. My thoughts are that the anti-tobacco lobby should firstly be emphasising the chemicals to early teens and other consumers so they get a real education on it before all the hype. Once people are addicted they tend to switch their minds off rather than listen to the hype. Pot (the untainted and natural kind) can also contribute towards lung disease ... Bob Marley, etc. ... and more informative education is needed on that one. I have known people that smoke marijuana who criticise tobacco smokers too yet they mixed tobacco with it to help it burn. I have seen the same people have withdrawls from the little tobacco used (and I know it was the tobacco), but they would never admit to that. Just saying. If you are asking for a preference I would think it far better to smoke pot (un-laced that is) than tobacco - as long as you know it does not have any extra ingredients. That would be pretty rare I imagine these days unless people were growing their own. My father died of lung disease through smoking cigarettes; forces personnel used to be encouraged to smoke during WWII to help calm them. Didn't help he was living in cramped, damp conditions on ships with various other fumes also.

Actually, "gas" (for want of a nicer word) contains methane which is highly flammable and is a component of natural gas which we use to cook with and heat our homes. Altho harmless in small amounts, it can be deadly to midgets in elevators. To pass "gas" and smoke at the same time might also be a deadly combination. Why not do some experimenting and report back here once you're released from the burn center? (I'm wicked, aren't I?)

smoking is rude! It's just more socially accepted. Yea it's sad. If people have manners they'll ask if they can smoke around you. :| I almost threw up going to a jersey restaurant!!! It's legal to smoke at restaurants!! :| I'm from california so that's a big NO!

Good question... I do both and agree with both totally. Smoking was socially acceptable and is becoming less so now. Hopefully our society will take a stonger stance on it and will eridicate such a harmful drug...

Because smoking was an accepted part of our society for so long. and smoking is silent!! I think you'll find that if you blow your smoke into someones face though they tend to have something to say about it.
